It won't stay like that once in use. (Unless you own a RR of course)
How about the logo on your steering wheel when your driving straight or after parking? You don't mind it's sideways or upside down even though your wheels/tires are in a straight position?

If anything, this is how it should be from the factory.
I'll ask for discount if the crown is not upright 90 degrees to the dial

I have one right up one straight down and one in the middle, all of them return to about the same spot. So its not like steering wheels or hubcaps. Once locked down they stay in that place.

I like my steering wheel aligned properly with my wheels when driving straight. That's why i would prefer the Rolex crown to align when tightened if possible.

Crikey, the OP is copping plenty of flak for putting forward a reasonable enough question especially considering some of the petty stuff people get concerned about on this forum. I have a 15 year old 14060m that came with an upright crown marking and it still is upright. Would I pay more? No. But the question is fair enough.

I'll be honest when I first got my 14060 I had the same thing running through my mind. Why would I pay all this money for a watch where the crown didn't close so the coronet was "upright."

I asked the folks on this forum about it and quickly learned it's just the way it is. I actually accepted it as that and just let it be...

Premium no but I agree it would be nice. Omega and Tag Heuer can do it so why can't Rolex?

Suprisingly tolerant group of rolex owners. Which is good.

I've never been picky about the direction of the crown and never even thought of it prior to joining this forum, but it sure would be nice if they were all upright.
I've read that at service time, you can request that they set the crown upright anyhow.

The crown on my Daytona is completely upside down. I reversed the bracelt so now my crown is the right way up . I can't see what time it is without taking my watch off but at least the crown is the right way up when I'm wearing it. Happy days.

It's not meant to be a 'right way up'. Sure, Rolex always shows that position, but they always show 10:10 on the 28th, too.

It doesn't bother me to wear a Rolex with the crown upside down. Rolex must be deliberately not fixing this considering SKY DWELLER has a patent and it will be adding an exclusivity to that model

Trouble today Rob today's Rolex watch wearers are mostly a totally different breed to the Rolex owners of yesteryear.Today its all case serials, box size, loupes, alignment points, will this or that go up or down,$$$$$$£££££££,OCD over a few seconds. So perhaps todays Rolex watch owners don't enjoy wearing and owning there watches like yesteryear owners. As today they seem now to cause a lot of stress with many can I do this or that, can I wear it in this or that country.

1,000,000 %.

It's a watch - wear it, if it breaks then someone will fix it for you.
