New DJ from my wife
My bride bought me a new DJ/silver dial/Jubilee for my birthday this weekend. My first Rolex! I have been wearing a Sea Master Pro (Christmas gift last year from the wife--I know, very generous wife. Very fortunate husband). I like the DateJust a lot but still adjusting to the size coming from the Sea Master Pro. Anyone else experience this coming from larger watches? Also, I'm finding the silver dial a bit difficult to read in low light situations.

It takes a bit of adjustment whenever you switch from a familiar watch to one of different proportions. Wear the DJ for a week and when you put your Omega back on it will seem huge! The SMP is easier to read, but then again it's a dive watch designed to be read in sub-optimal conditions. You'll get used to your new acquisition. Enjoy!

i own a silver dialed Tudor and have the same problems. size doesnt bother me much since its such a beautiful watch anyways. but its the readability that keeps me from wearing it more often. congrats on the great gift! dont worry, its a keeper for sure.

Lucky you, two fine watches from a wonderful wife! I followed my Planet Ocean with a DJ also, SS, fluted, Jubilee, Roman numerals on a rhodium dial. Never had any problems adjusting to the different sizes, and the PO is not small. I hope you enjoy the Datejust as much as I do, and the Omega, too!

Congratulations, on a pair of lovely watches, I have some vintage watches and they are 34mm excluding the crown, but I get used to them very quickly. My largest watch is a 45mm+ POC but I have it on titanium for the weight aspect.

I think you will get used to it.
After you wear it for a while your other watch may even seem large when you first switch back. Remember, what's probably the most important is the occasion and who it's from than the actual watch itself. Congrats on your gifts. |

Nice support on your wife's part! You've chosen wisely:)
Silver dials are not always the easiest to read depending on lighting, but it'll make for a nice alternate to your Seamaster. Congrats! |

My SMP is without a doubt the easiest watche to read of those that I've owned, I know what you mean. It will take a week or two but I'm sure that you'll get used to it.

Very nice congrats. My fiancé bought me a dj2 tt as a wedding/ birthday gift also .... My first rolex was a gmt2-c which seemed small to me coming from my breitling super avenger (48.5mm), but turned out to feel perfect now

Awesome gifts! I used to have an SMP 300M. I just recently bought a 36mm DJ. I still own a 46mm Citizen that gets a little wrist time here and there. I have no problem with smaller watches on my smaller wrist, but it doesn't work for everyone.
It works for you, OP! |

Congrats, I have both the watches as well. They are two completely different watches but I assure you will adjust and love both equally. Enjoy
