Odd ring/trace line on malachite dial?

I cannot quite come up with the right term, but something looks odd about this dial. There almost looks like there is a concentric circle (esp. near seven, eight o'clock)...as though the minute or second hand scratched the dial as it moved.

Am I just seeing things? Or has anyone seen something like this before...

Malachite is so rare - but bad fakes are abundant. The watch is sold, but that doesn't really mean anything these days...

thanks

Google images will come up with examples. If it was serviced and hands were replaced, incorrectly set, or incorrect hands..can cause it.

Thanks...that does make some sense - but I guess that means it probably would be considered a damaged dial
