what is up with this watch
my mom died recently and left this watch to me. if anyone can tell me anything about it that would be awesome as i looked in a rolex book and just went to a local dealer and he just stared at me with a blank look. thanks for any wisdom you can share. christina

Ladies cocktail watch. Not much else to say and it appears that somebody has told all about it in the clipping you show.
Not much market for these so it has mostly heirloom value and if cleaned up may be nice to wear out on occasion.

I always wondered about Rolex cocktail watched - are they real rolex, just Rolex movement, or what? Obviously every one (as far as I know) believes that Chameleon are real Rolex watches, but what about one of like this one - yes Rolex movement (let me guess - 1400), but the case is most likely not Rolex (thought could be Rolex authorized) - do we start looking at old ads? is there a DB with known Rolex cocktail watches (and correct dials)?
