Buckley Dial References/No cyclops and Examples?
Does anyone out there have a comprehensive list of the references that have Buckley dials? Or could you just name a few?
I'm trying to find pics of a day date and/or date just with blue, Buckley dial, smooth bezel, and preferably no cyclops window? Does such a thing exist????!!! Are all of the Rolexes I am seeing without date window after market modifications? Please help. Thanks!! |

All should have a magnifier. I believe production started in the 70s - so 1601, 1603, 1803 and later models. There are some (though very very few) service dials which were installed on much older models. Here's a 6611

The painted Roman was available on the 4 and 5 digit refs 16XX(X) and 18XX(X). I tried to get a 4 digit for my collection but couldn't find a watch or a loose dial so when this 16030 popped up I nabbed it.
This was my first non-four digit Rolex and quickly led me down the road to quickset perdition, I love this watch! All 16 and 18 came from Rolex with a cyclops crystal. From what I've heard the non-cyclops crystal is actually an Omega part. |

Another beautiful example. Thanks for the information about the absence of the date window!

Buckley Dial References/No cyclops and Examples?
Welcome to the forum. A quick refresher of the rules will show we don’t discuss replica parts.
A blue OEM Buckley dial without a date window doesn’t exist so you’ll likely not get pictures or sources for that. But if you’d like to see proper examples, a thread from Feb. 2017 is instructive. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=522015 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I enjoyed having my 5-digit set up with these looks for a time. Later went back to the original white dial and cyclops.

I already did a few years ago! But while I had it I was always keeping an eye out for the white hands. Very rare! Can you post a pic of yours ?
Also wondering: Besides the 1655 what other references have white hands???

Buckley Dial References/No cyclops and Examples?
Quote:
Early sub references had white sweep hands, i think some Daytonas have white chrono hands. I don’t know of any other reference that has a full white handstack (except the 1655 you mentioned). A blue or black Buckley dial with white hands would be awesome. I think white hands are very different and cool. I owned this UG, thought the white hands were awesome: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
