they used the cal 1575 movement which is the earlier 1570 with added date function

So guys, i heard that red subs were produced until 1973? Is that true? Cause i am after a 1974 1680 (birth year) and don't know what is right and what is wrong. In addition i would like to know what are the correct serials for 1974.

Rolex did make red 1680's in 1973 and then continued for a few more years. 1972 was the last year that the 1680's caseback was stamped with the year. 1973 case backs had no date stamped on them, so if you are looking for a birth year, you will have to use the serial numbers as reference. Hope that helps answer your question.
