The funniest thing about all the speedo jokes for me is that around here they are actually the norm at the pool/beach. Anyone wearing shorts is usually a gringo.

Does this mean I'll have to pack shorts instead?!

Just got caught up on the thread. I just have to say again that I am very excited for the meet up. I look forward to meeting the community and learning all I can from my peers.

I went to the LA meet up late last year and I really enjoyed it so I can only imagine what this meet up will be like :)

Reminds me of a trip I took to Croatia with a Croatian couple who lived in Germany. We got ready for the beach and my friends made fun of my American shorts. I was shocked that he was in a speedo. They said everybody would look at me because i would be the only man in such shorts. Anyway after much abuse we got to the beach and he was the only guy in a speedo...an hour later he bought shorts to blend in. I laughed my ass off. Times had changed. As usual, i was ahead of the curve.

Unfortunately this year's event is the weekend before my wedding...Probably not the best time for me to be disappearing off to Vegas

Making it to next year's (as a first-timer) is a priority for me!
