Gilt dial 1675 case condition

Hi everyone,

I've come across this gilt dial 1675 from a friend and could potentially get it for a good value, as he is looking at one of my modern 16710s + cash.

He says he has the original insert somewhere, and the gmt hand is replacement, but is the case condition a deal breaker?

Serial is 1.3million region and haven't been able to see the insides yet.

What are your thoughts on overall condition?

Just want some opinions, thanks!

Obviously you know the case is weak or you would not be asking..
Not every watch has to be perfect.
I think that in this case (no pun intended or yes maybe), Your deciding factor should be based on the price and not the condition.

The case condition wouldn’t bother me, I think a refinish would have it looking good. I’m less keen about what appears to be a sloppy relume. Depends on price in the end.

Thanks for the reply :)

The price floated was a 16710 + ~10k aud , but I was hoping to try and get it a bit lower.

What do you think?

Also could the case be restored? Recutting may not be an option, but I have seen some pieces have material added, then reshaped.

Does it look like it's been relumed? - under UV it looked ok, but I'm not too familiar - it does look a bit mottled though

I don't think its been relumed. With these gilts you typically need to see a gilt surround around each of the plots, with the exception of this dial, which is the last of the gilts. I do think there has been something to damage (mottle) the plots I see here. Maybe moisture.
