For my 50th birthday... I wanted a GMT "batman"... I had an older Sub (father's) and my own Explorer 1 (which I still wear almost daily).

Well, now I am 53 and my AD FINALLY CALLED. :thumbs:

She's a beauty... but, like many... not exactly a Jubilee fan.

My Questions: Are there any real options out there to get an Oyster?

Some background:

• It's my watch. I'm never selling it... so the Franken watch fears don't apply.
• I can always put the Jubilee back on.
• I tried one aftermarket "sub" (yes, I'm desperate).

I suppose that you can change it if you want, all you have to do is find one.

For years we have had literally hundreds of members, desperate to get their hands on a Jubilee for their GMT, which it was almost always available with as an option.

We have even seen huge numbers of folks who put in the DJ Jubilee, which is not quite a perfect fit, just to have the classic GMT on a Jubilee.

Now that the GMT is offered with a Jubilee, folks are squawking..

So, things have gone full circle. We have gone from GMT owners seeking that elusive Jubilee, to GMT owners looking for an Oyster.


I'll bet that next year it will be available with either.

Oyster by far is a better looking watch but its a personal preference

why not flip yours and get the prior model with the proceeds?

Did you check with your AD first. I'm pretty sure the 116170s bracelet will work. You may need different spring bars. This topic has been discussed here many times and some members have done this. They'll chime in I'm sure. Good luck...

Just an FYI - the new GMT’s use a thinner spring bar then the previous 116710. However, the of you use the spring bar from your 126710 (the new blnr) you can use the watch with the older bracelets from Subs, GMT’s, etc. hope this helps.
