Most excellent photos - thanks for sharing!

- How much thicker than a regular PO is it?

- I really wish Omega would step up and release an adjustable clasp at this price point and given the weight/thickness of the watch.

- Another reflection: I wonder how many 42mm PO in titanium they will sell when this is the same price point?!

Omega did not use a time machine to "copy the colour orange" from the re-issued EXP2, then use it on the Planet Ocean in 2006, its the colour the PO has always used.

Secondly, this is one of four colour schemes the Planet Ocean GMT is available in. This blue model is blue to fit with Goodplanet, Omega's partner for this special edition.

The other colours are Black bezel with polished silver numerals, black bezel with anodised orange numerals, and orange bezel with orange numerals. Most people will likely go for the black bezel / silver numerals as its the most neutral. All of these models feature an orange GMT hand, along with an orange second hand, as has every other PO model since forever.

The size is a middle ground between the 42mm of the PO and 45.5mm of the POXL. Its an interesting middle ground option that probably makes more sense than making a 42 and 45.5 varient of all 4 different GMT models all over again, reducing the number of different models in the line a dealer might have to carry.

Below are the other three models:

Now you're talking...........that blue and orange thing Omega does is really bad. These options are great Thanks for posting

Aaaarrgghh! I had just convinced myself the black with the black rubber/white stitching strap was the way to go(to help prevent scratches at work).

Now I've seen ruckdee's photo's I've been won over by the blue but not on the blue strap, it would have to be the bracelet.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

nice --- on a bracelet, the blue and orange looks much better, and the details really shine through.

still seems thick as a brick and an HEV on a GMT is strange, but, otherwise, it's handsome enough.

I really start liking the blue GMT it looks awesome in the pictures.
What size is the watch?
I still thing the orange bezel GMT 45mm would be my pick!

Ahh man, I had convince myself that I didn't want any of the watches Omega release at Basel this year and even saw the Good Planet blue at the Omega boutique a couple of weeks ago in NYC... now after looking at these pic I'm starting to reconsider

It is confirmed at 17.25mm thick. That is pretty much the same as the DSSD but in a 42mm watch. I so wish they could skip the see-through back/whatever and keep it under 14-15mm. It does make a difference in wearability and comfort.

The regular PO 8500 is 16mm thick, is is already a lot in my book.

It's not 42mm, its 43.5mm so about the same diameter as a Deepsea as well, but still 2mm thinner than the Planet Ocean Chrono Calibre 9300

Ah, that is absolutely correct, I mis-remembered. So it is actually pretty much exactly the same size/thickness as the DSSD. I wonder about weight then?

Personally, I don't think the proportions of the DSSD are ideal, I wish the PO-GMT would wear/have the thickness of other GMTs in the market.

The PO case forms the crown guards, and the bezel actually measures 1.5mm less than what is stated. For this reason the PO always wears a little smaller than the stated width.

In this case it will look more like a 17.25mm high watch on 42mm width, so proportionately taller than the DSSD.

Love the watch....great size in between the 42 and 45.5. I think Omega got some feedback from customers who were clamoring this in between size...

. However, OMEGA(if you are listening please), you want to charge ~2k more for the liquidmetal blue versions - at least make sure the datewheel is color coordinated with the dial!!!! This is too big an oversight for such magnificent watches.

Gorgeous watch, but 15mm is pretty much my limit for thickness, and frankly even that is kind of pushing it.

Such a fantastic looking watch, even with the DW color I would have one but the thickness is clownish. Seriously, can our sapphire case back maker here make a solid back?

[QUOTE=JP Chestnut;4080060]I realize that we're on RolexForum, but there's nothing in my post which suggests that I hold Rolex on any sort of pedestal. All my pedestals are reserved for watch manufacturers that don't fit $10 bracelets on $10,000 watches. With that said, please provide a historical Omega model with any sort of orange GMT styling cues. This watch copies the orange hand Explorer 2 styling in an IMO fairly blatant and unsophisticated way.

You gotta be kidding. Rolex Explorer bares almost no legitimate resemblance to this watch. The look, size and feel aren't even close. To suggest that orange is the trade dress than could only be associated with an Explorer, well, that seems like a subjective reach.

x2! Having own both GMTC and 2500 PO, here my 2 cents: this PO GMT is much nicer than the explorer.

43.5mm is doable, but I wonder how thick it is.
Wouldn't you want the hands to match the dial coloration?

Although i love how it looks. The finish is not as good as rolex. The way the bracelet almost fits to the case for instance..
I tried buying one but just couldn't do it. Resale value is also an issue.
