Would RSC restore an aftermarket watch?

Hello there, I hope you are having a wonderful time.

I was just wondering if the RSC would restore a Rolex Daytona that has aftermarket parts (bezel, dial and bracelet).

If so, does anyone know the price of these parts for a stainless steel Daytona?

Thank you!

If the "watch" is real...sure they will sell you every part necessary including bracelet to get it back to how it came. Don't expect any of the old parts back though...

Was that photo taken with a potato?

Would RSC restore an aftermarket watch?

I think it highly depends on what was done.

My own experience from a while back. I purchased a watch from a local jewelry shop that I thought was a 16610LV. Well, turns out it wasn’t and really was just a regular 16610 with a lot of aftermarket parts both internally and externally. I found this out when I sent it in for a service to Dallas RSC and it was promptly refused and returned. Took it to my AD who has an in house Rolex watchmaker who agreed to service it and replace all aftermarket parts with service parts.

It was a very expensive lesson I learned. Should have just stuck to our trusted sellers on here.

Yes, assuming the case and movement are original they’ll happily bring it back to OEM spec for you. It won’t be cheap…

Take off all aftermarket parts, then send to RSC for an estimate.

Thank you

I’ve been trying to find pricing for the parts and from what I gathered it should be something like this:

Bezel $250
Dial $800
Hands $200
Bracelet $1500
Service $1200

Total: $3950

Am I missing anything? Are these prices accurate?

Thank you again!

Out of interest , did you buy it priced accordingly knowing it had aftermarket parts? I'm assuming you didn't have those changes made as you don't have the parts.

A local jewellers usually has DJs with diamond markers, which are clearly labelled as non-Rolex. Its often made me wonder if the movements are 100% original.

I think I paid around $17,000, I did buy it 4 or 5 years ago in NYC and at the time I thought it was cool… and the guy who sold it to me said that the diamond bezel was exceptionally well done and it cost $10k to the client who customized it.

So my idea now is to make a ring for my wife with those diamonds and bring the Daytona back to its best days :)

I don’t think any RSC will touch it.

17k for this watch? Sheesh.

I doubt RSC would touch this watch unless you wanted to get it back to factory spec and even then I’m not sure.

Personally, I would try selling it and moving on from it.

I think RSC will restore up to a point, but if the watch has turned the corner with too many aftermarket parts they will likely refuse it.

BTW, 1500 for a bracelet? Full?

I don’t think they are touching this thing. If it’s cheap enough and you know it’s real, you could always piece it together from a watchmaker with a parts account.
