A Bit Nervous...

Hey guys--

I just wired the money for the first watch I've ever bought off of this forum....... and I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said I wasn't nervous...

I bought the watch from Tony G. at Justrolexes... and when I called my bank to wire the money, they read me all of these warnings, etc., etc... they actually had me second guessing myself! I just can't wait to have the watch on my wrist! I know that Tony is a great guy on this forum, but to be honest, I'd be nervous spending that kind of money even at an AD... I guess it's just my personality!

I will post my wrist shot when she arrives! Thanks in advance, Tony!!

Worry a little is good but once you get over this hump, you will be wiring money for your next watch in no time. Congrats and do tell us what you purchased.

You're in good hands. I know Tony (we are kind of neighbors, in a manner of speaking), and he is 100% all the way.

You will be more than satisfied, I am sure.

Awaiting pictures!

Funny! I too just completed by first wire transfer with Tony for a DeepSea. Ive bought watches in person and with paypal, but never by wire. Speaking with Tony over the phone along with his feedback on this forum really put me at ease. Can't wait for the watch to arrive tommorrow morning. I may go to the office late so I can receive it myself. Thanks Tony and Rolex Forums!!

There is no reason to worry, speaking from experience. As soon as Tony has found the next one for me I'll be wiring more money. :-)

your bank will send the funds, sometimes, the funds touch several 'correspondent' banks, obviously, you're dealing with a completely different company, they cannot be responsible for funds at another institution...

wires are complicated little buggers, don't worry about wiring funds, probably one of the safest methods of transferring funds.

GREAT choice! It's definitely a rare piece that you won't run into very often in the wild.

Also, Congrats! I just went through the same thing for my first watch. It's totally normal to be nervous but when you open that thing up and see the true beauty on your wrist... buyers remorse = GONE.

This thread brought back memories of my watch purchase from a trusted TRF seller. FedEx always delivers packages to me around 5pm. I must be at the end of his route. I saw the FedEx truck in my neighborhood, headed to a home with the same address number as mine, but on a different street. That family sometimes gets my mail. I even found my packages in his carport after I checked on-line and saw that the package was "delivered." When I saw the truck leaving that house, I ran down to the intersection and waved him down. He stopped and handed me the large padded envelope with my BNIB GV inside. He said he delivered another package to my neighbor, and had full intentions of turning up my street to deliver my package -- no worries! We had a laugh, and I told him what was in the package. We've become good friends. Maybe reading this long story has lowered your anxiety a little. As the FedEx driver said, "No worries."

I was on that same road, but quite frankly, with all the positives on Tony, I felt better than buying it from some AD's. My wife also thought I was a bit nuts sending that much cash, but I convinced her too.

So here's another post to say relax, it will show very soon! Enjoy the wait, but enjoy the unwrapping and wearing even more.

We have all been there man. You just have to trust that the forum wouldn't let bad people sell here and go off of the references you have.

I was so nervous the first time I did it as well. I think it is natural to worry when you are wire transferring a boatload of money to someone! But before you know it you will have that beauty on your wrist.

When you guys buy from these trusted sellers on TRF and receive the watch, do you take it to an AD to get it checked out and verified of its authenticity or you do you just take the seller's word?

So what's the difference between having your wife kill you and really kill you? Just curious.

It's the difference between literal and metaphorical.
