I got my Rolex with the intention of it being my dress watch. But then I remembered I don't get dressed up more than a couple of times a year

So now I wear it to work every Friday. "Rolex Friday", I call it

Why wouldn't you wear it. Who cares what the boss has--I ALWAYS wear my Rolex to work. If you were wearing some blinged out Prez, then maybe not. Enjoy your watch...

I wear mine everyday since I got it. Nobody even noticed at work.

BTW, my boss wears 50 dollars watch. However, this is his preference. I don't think he cares how I spend my money as long as I do good job at work.
Asian culture? i dont know about that. it is in every culture. one is just more obvious than the others.

I wear a nicer watch than Bill Gates. Who cares? My boss is not into watches, why would that stop me from enjoying mine?

I wear mine only at work. It helps to take the sting out of working. On my days off I wear a lesser watch. For a special occasion, I wear a vintage Seamaster.

Wear mine every work day, and every day for that matter.

I will confess that my selection of Explorer 1 was influenced by not wanting too much "show" on the wrist during the workday. Meaning I didn't want a heavy, thick watch.

I wear my GMTIIc TT every day. Much nicer than my bosses' G-Shock.

But more importantly... I happen to know that his net worth is roughly 100 times mine.

I'm surprised he even wears clothes to work.

You really have to get over worrying about what other people think!
If you feel like wearing your Rolex to work, then do so! In this society, luxury goods are no longer a sign of social status or wealth. I spend my money on the things that make me happy, and I wear my Rolex to work and to the gym and every other place I go. Neither of my bosses, who are the owners of the company, even has a watch. Nobody thinks any the less of me. Not that I would care anyway.
I live in a city where everyone is so worried about what everyone else thinks, in fact what the rest of the world thinks about our city. All this pretense makes for a very superficial society. If more people would do as they please, as long as they treat others with respect and the way they would want to be treated themselves, there can be no harm done.
The only motivation for you to buy a watch like this, should be the pleasure and appreciation you get from it. Enjoy wearing your Rolex. We all have bad days at work, and you might just one day find yourself gazing at the watch on your wrist, and find that it puts a smile back on your face.
Cheers
Carl

Why not dress nicer than your boss, why limit yourself to his taste and fashion ability? I think you should wear what you want, including your Rolex and maybe soon YOU will be the boss!!

You didn't even buy it? You won it...at work?? Even more of a reason to wear it and not to be paranoid of what others think of it...not that it made sense in the first place. It is just a watch.

I wear my Rolexes all the time...

my boss wears a quarz [Armitron I think].

I sit in a few conference calls. Surprisingly, alot of people don't wear watches. People always ask me what time it is.

I don't put too much emphasis on this. All my watches are paid for, so I'll wear them at work.

best,
Frank

I am now retired but when working (Hospital Administration) I damn sure wore my Rolex to work. I made the money, I spent the money, the watch was mine and I never worried one second if I was dressing better than anyone else.

It's not paranoia. It would be completely appropriate for me to wear it everyday. I don't want to wear it because I don't really enjoy wearing it. I never would have purchased this model. It's not for me. Too flashy. I'm not a fan of gold or diamonds.

I've kept it for the past 3 years because I'm expected to wear it at meetings with the big bosses. But a few people have won them since my day in the sun, so the pressure is on them. I'm going to sell it/trade it and get a Rolex I want to wear more often.

So in the theme of this thread, I don't wear mine daily because it's too flashy. Too flashy for me. Not too flashy for the world.

I wear a Rolex to work almost every day. Our CEO has a blusey that he'll wear once in a blue moon, but other than that, I'm the only Rolexer in the house. If I don't have a Rolex on, I usually have my Panerai.

I do sometimes feel out of place wearing my Patek to work. It wasn't a big deal until I named my firstborn Patek (which happened about a month ago) and now people are questioning where I got the name from and searching around on Google.

wear it all the time outside of work. hate to say it, but people do notice and people do judge at work. they might not outright say it, but they will take notice of what you wear (watch, shoes, belt, etc.) outside of your normal day to day functions. so if you happen to just catch a "hater" at work, that definitely can affect your bonus unfortunately.

It's best that I don't. My billing is quite high on other peoples mis-fortune. I don't think that it would be the right thing for me to do.
