Quick prediction for 2020

I have a feeling that Rolex will discontinue the Deepsea including the Cameron edition this year. I haven't heard it anywhere, it's just a strong feeling after being 20 years in the Rolex game.

Thoughts?

I don't think the Deepsea is going away anytime soon. It's their most technical dive watch. It's also very popular.

That was the thought back in 2018 and then Rolex released the 126660...I don’t see them discontinuing it after only producing it for two years.

I feel like that’s a watch that HAS to stick around so that Rolex can compete with other brands to see who can go deeper in the ocean and all that.

Good point. If they discontinued it, they would have to come out with something equally if not more capable.

It's a realistic possibility. I don't think it will happen, but the SD is certainly more in rage for the average size guy then the DSSD. Mainly due to the difference in thickness.

I've tried them both on and love them both. I hope they keep them both.

No way they are discontinued yet imo because they just moved to the 126660 and besides adding 3235, redesigned the case and bracelet.

IDK about that prediction, or should I say feeling. That's there claim to fame for a serious diver and would give the win to Omegas Planet Ocean at 660meters. If they do I'll remember who said it first, I at least hope your wrong OP.

It’s a big one, but so comfortable to me. “Royale with cheese.”

What would me more capable? Able to withstand the surface of the sun? The Deep Sea is already rated to about 6 times the deepest any human has worked outside a submarine and close to the limit of breathing any known substance that would allow them too. Fun to speculate though!

For being in the Rolex game 20 years I'd assume that any predictions have been little to no avail

They just updated the D blue DSSD, I can't see them discontinuing it anytime soon.

Judging by all the recent incomings, I would wager that Rolex has some New plans for the SD43 as well.

I predict Rolex’s 2020 releases will be delayed until 2021 (like Baselworld and Olympics).

The Deepsea will only be discontinued when "proper men" become extinct.

They’ll discontinue the black DSSD before the JC

This makes the most sense. The black is a poor seller and the SD43 sort of moved into its space. I don't see JC going anywhere. It is a unique piece in the Rolex lineup

Deep Sea is not going anywhere. It has historical relevance in the world of deep diving and in the world of Rolex. It's an important piece. Perhaps there will be a day in which the DC versions may get cut but the watch itself, I don't see it happening .
