Every couple of weeks, not rule based. But it somehow brings me a weird sense of satisfaction to notice that it's only a couple of seconds off when I do.

This. I circulate a bunch of watches through the rotation, so no one stays on the wrist long enough to worry about

I always check my watch to the atomic clock each day and if it's out by more than 2 seconds I will wind it up manually, hack the second hand when it hits 12, adjust the minute hand to the next 5 minute marker and patiently wait for the atomic clock to sync with the watch time before pressing in the crown.
Call me OCD but I don't spend thousands of dollars on a watch for it to give me the incorrect time, otherwise I may as well just be wearing a piece of eye candy. Plus it allows me to monitor which one of my watches keeps the most accurate time. Interestingly, it's my Omega calibre 9900; Omega calibre 8800 and Rolex calibre 9001 in that order.

I may be a little OCD, but I reset to NIST every 3-4 days.

So, how regularly do you find yourself resetting the time to match
your reference?
I Treble check mine with my 25 different phone apps on 10 different phones, plus two radio controlled clocks and two atomic clock computer apps for confirmation to a thousandth of a second.Do you guys think I am getting {CCTS} constant checking time syndrome. But in the real world I check once a week or so with my quartz kitchen clock. If its more than a minute out will adjust, thank god my life not run to the exact second.

When I reset the date or when it needs a wind. If you’re doing it more often than that then there’s something wrong with the watch (or your expectation of it).

Twice a year when the time changes according to DST unless I'm traveling in another time zone. My Ceramic Submariner is exceptionally accurate as it loses less than a second a month. I also change the date when warranted but I don't consider that a reset of the time.

Whenever I change time zones while traveling.

If a watch like the Sky Dweller where I can change the hour hand independently, only when it is several minutes off. Very infrequent.

When it's a few minutes wrong, seconds don't matter to me.

With my 116506 gaining about 1 second per month, I figure it needs to be adjusted once every five years or so.

The question was, “How often do you reset the time on your Rolex?” Not how much the watch has to be off before you reset it. I reset mine the first day of every month (and it is usually three minutes fast per month, which is within COSC, which is fine by me).

How often do you reset your quartz kitchen clock?
And is it safe to get it wet?

When my Grand Seiko quartz watch needs a new battery (3 years or so) I set the time. It’s always within 2 seconds after all that time.

Only when it’s a few minutes off, so basically never or if it looses charge. I don’t bother messing around bothering with seconds.

I cycle through my watches and wear them for one or two weeks at a time, so every time I change a watch I set it to the correct time.

I own 2 watches and always keep the one I'm not wearing in a winder, so only when clocks change twice a year.

Just in rotation. I wear one for about a week and then switch to another. So re-setting is a non-issue for me.

Once a week. Wash it and set the time, give it a few winds (5-10)

Every 2-3 months. To-the-second accuracy isn’t at all important to me in daily life.

Mine get wound and set to the right hour and minute when they are worn in rotation, and thats it, don't bother with seconds. They are worn 24 /7 until I fancy a change, may be a week, month, six weeks whatever, and the process is repeated.

Just to be clear, the watch needs to be reset every time the daylight savings changes.

I'm very lucky got my GMT Master ll (BLNR) on December 7th, 2019 and I checked it again just now and it's 2 seconds fast. Have not set the time even once after the initial setting and because you can move the hour hand independently setting it for DST is a breeze. I had a 2008 Submariner and I would set it one minute slow then about a month later it would be one minute fast so I would just stop it for 2 minutes.

There is no way I would realize or really care if it was off by a few seconds over the course of a few days. Once those seconds add up to minutes then we have a problem.

Mine is consistently -2/day, so every couple of weeks. Not gonna lie, I’m a little jealous of you 1 sec a month guys.

Question. My new sub is running about a 1/2 second slow each week. Until I have it serviced, will it always run slightly slowly, or might it run fast / slow / fast / etc over the years?
