[QUOTE=G.Montag;10492306]Classy post. I’m surprised you are familiar with such concepts as “wife” and “daughter”, given the SF location
Wow. Not sure why someone would respond to a post they found offensive with another office post

The scuff could have been a lot worse but a drop like this is unforgivable. Divorce the wife and give the kid up for adoption

For me the safest place for a watch is on your wrist. Every time you take it off you can only lose it or drop it. Usually a bigger risk than the thing you are taking it off for.

This too sounds like a great story! Pics or it never happened! BTW, i'm not talking about the watch.

My wife must now have had a good hold on it or Perry our daughter caught my wife off guard and it was dropped.

Good outlook OP! Your story reminds me of another story here in the forum where a member said his young daughter picked up his Nautilus from the kitchen counter and threw it on the floor.

Yours is a more fortunate mishap. Cheers!

Yeah, years ago I wrap my deepsea in a towel while showering at friend’s house, when I was about to dry myself I forgot the watch was in the towel and I pull the towel, the deepsea flew out and dropped onto the granite floor. The crown guard was dented and the crown was bent.

I sold it as damaged goods instead of fixing it.

There is the poem “Ode to a Grecian Urn” which deals with the impermanence of this life. I think it’s an allegory to the ephemeral and fleeting nature of beauty.

Well, your watch can be refinished at considerable expense. But it will never be perfect again. You will know that your wife or daughter took something from you which was perfect and caused it to lose its perfection.

You should instantly get a new Submariner. You should also instantly ghost your wife and daughter. Leave now, friend. They don’t care about you or how seriously they have taken that which was perfect and caused a gaping hole in your existence. If your daughter is a minor, the judge will not order child support once you explain how you have been harmed. I feel your pain as my wife once said “that’s nice” when I showed her my 216570 for the first time. “Nice” is not how you describe one of the few things in this lifetime which we know is one of the rare embodiments of perfection. My counselor advised that I should wait until child support is no longer an issue before filing the inevitable divorce for emotional abandonment.

Or you can just send it to Rolex with the understanding “sh%t happens” which might be how some deal with such an unforgivable affront.

May you never again face such an affront. My prayers are with you, good sir.
Haha well funny

Have to agree with today's Rolex owners most seem to over exaggerate for what in the real world are tiny dings in often highly magnified pictures.

This... simply put it on and be thankful for for everything in life.

Sorry it happened but no need to dwell on this considering what's going on these days. Be well...

Wouldn’t bother me, not a fan of shiny watches. And when it comes to Rolex, the more scuffs and dings the better. Adds character.

Bummer. That said, sometimes the "fix" can result in it looking worse!

If it runs as it should, I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s meant to be used and designed to tolerate a fair amount of abuse / misuse...

Whew, thanks goodness it wasn't the crystal and that everyone is healthy... So much to be grateful for in 2020, as well as so many things to really and truly sweat and greive.

Wear it and let it remind you of how much we love our imperfect family and friends.
