I am 6'4 and 275 lbs., so naturally I got into the Breitlings and Panerai's. But, now my Rolex's get all the wrist time, and when I do put on one of my Super Avengers or Bentley it looks weird to me. I truly cannot wait until I get my DSSD. Congrats on the pickup, and enjoy Greece. The watch and scenery are truly magnificent!

Thanks for the review, John. I'm sorry that you find it too big and uncomfortable on your wrist, I can always take it off your hands and relieve you of your misery.

I understand what you mean....

Even with all titanium on the case and bracelet, my 45 mm x 18 mm Seahawk II Pro 3000 tends to make itself known on the wrist. It is FUN to wear a big, in your face watch, but you are aware of it.

Running contrary to that is my Rolex GMT Ceramic. Even though it is gold, and heavy in weight, the balance is so fine, that the watch disappears on my wrist. Most of the time that is good. But some of the time, it is more fun to have a "shock and awe" level watch on your wrist.

By the way, would you mind measuring the actual dial size inside the REHAUT RING from 9 to 3??? I'm trying to find out whether the dial is actually bigger than on my GMT Master II C, or if they made the watch bigger, but not the dial. MUCH APPRECIATED IF YOU DON'T MIND.

Thanks for the review. I love the watch but I've never wanted one because it's just too big. You can see that in all of the pictures. One thing for sure though, it is a beautiful watch even as big as it is.

It may not fit oh so right but it sure looks oh so right, if after another couple of days it still doesn't feel right, I would get a new arm.

when you have it on your wrist, does the 20mm bracelet on the dssd seem out of proportion to the large case size?

I agree with Skippy's suggestion of wearing it behind the wrist bone. Before I trained myself to do that, any watch over 34mm was annoying to me. Since I've started doing that several years ago, it allowed me to jump to my 36mm SMP, and now my 39 and 40mm Rollies. 40mm is upper limit for me and the caseback of the Submariner still sits higher than I would prefer, so that thickness is upper limit for me as well, although the GMT2C sits nicely.

This is a watch people cannot wear loose else it'd flop around and slam into things.

While visiting WEMPE's the jewellers in Madrid, last week.
I was very fortunate to be shown a DSSD that was waiting to be collected by its new owner.
And though its a nice looking watch and extremely well built. Its just too big for my wrist and would probaly become to uncomfortable to wear on my small wrist.
So I shall no longer be getting one.

By the way this will of been the 3rd DSSD that WEMPE's in Madrid will have sold!!!!!!!!!!!
Has any been seen or sold in the UK?????

Might look balanced and great. But if it is not comfortable then why would you wear it?

Looks good on you. As far as resale goes, I went to my AD in Texas and he said that when they get one in they are going to try to get 19k for the watch. I told them they are absolutely nuts because we're starting to see some flippers already so I don't think the watch will command a 10k premium. But if it does you are in good shape!

This watch is larger than most other watches but it doesn't look too big for your wrist. I agree, it's a bit heavy and kinda difficult to get use to but with time you will not notice it. You only feel that way now because your previous watch was probably smaller and lighter. I felt the same way coming from a Daytona to a Brietling GT. WOW what a difference in size and weight. The more I wore the GT the better it felt. Good Luck and give it some time.

I am with you..Watch looks awesome but it is just not for me. For my 6.5` wrist Sub is perfect and I only dive upto 300m on my desk IMO you oughtto have a big wrist for a DS.

Tried one on today. Thought it looked pretty good, felt good on my wrist, really liked the domed crystal. Only thing I didnt care much for was the thickness of it. Was $9925 Canadian at the AD.
