Buy the seller right? What would you do?

That's the saying right? I'm having a tough time following that rule thought. There is watch, 116234 datejust with black dial and roulette wheel date that I have been look for for about a year, and this is the first I have seen pop up as a complete set and at a decent price.

So here is the rub, I messaged the seller a few times now asking question like, has the case been polished, are you the original owner, and can you send some more pictures of the side and corners of the case.

It has been a few days and I have not heard back. The listing was also ended early, and re-listed at $250 more, which is a little annoying as well.

So, buy the seller with non existent communication, or trust the 100% feedback rating? What would you do?

Is this ebay? Do you have a phone number? Sometimes email can be overlooked.

Yes ebay, I can send a message with my number, maybe that will help get a response.

Or did you mean a number for the seller? I don't believe ebay lists that information

If your sure he got your message and it sounds like he did as he's been active with his ad and if it's been a few days then it's time to walk. Not a good seller.

I agree. A non-responsive seller is not one I would do business with.

It's possible your email got flagged as spam/junk so they didnt see it? Try sending from another address, and if you still dont hear then it's probably best you don't do business with them.

I messaged a user here once about a Rolex they were selling. Basic questions after they had originally responded the watch was still available. Never heard back, so I didn't peruse it. Why would I want to do business with someone that can't answer a few basic legitimate questions.

On Ebay, 100% feedback doesn't mean a lot--the system is easily gamed.

I'd walk.

All this disqualifies the seller. No excuse not communicating via the Forum if you're listing on the Forum. If you don't monitor PMs, don't list here.

I don't think it was flagged, but I'm sure it's possible. Is there a way to see that? You're right though, why would I want to do business with someone who can't answer a few questions.

If I'm selling something, I reply to enquiries especially intelligent questions that indicate a serious buyer.

Someone who can't/wont answer questions is either pulling a scam or isn't worth your time. I'd suspect the former.

But then Again, this is ebay. If the price makes sense, i’d say buy it. Then take it to rsc or somewhere for authentication as soon as you receive. If anything is funny, return it. Ebay is very buyer biased. You can return a sack of potatoes and claim refund.

Buy the seller doesnt mean someone on ebay with good feedback.
It means use a trusted watch seller that has done business especially on here before.

How long have they been on Ebay? How many sales do they have? What is there feedback ranking? Any negatives, if so read them all! Have they sold ANYTHING expensive? What else do they have for sale. Answering those questions will provide you with your answer.

I figure if there not responding they may be doing you a favor. ALWAYS buy the seller and if there not a good seller move on. You have trusted sellers here that are very capable to get you any model you want. They go to shows frequently and do shopping there for whats not in stock. But you have to have some patience.

Dont be that guy posting next in the Watchout section telling how you got ripped off!

Buy the seller- there are no exceptions IMO unless you are willing to lose the $ you are spending . I use this rule for anything >$1k. Just an arbitrary # I am comfortable with

Not a hard watch to find. Contact DavidSW. If there's not already one listed on his site, one could be procured quickly. You may pay a few hundred more which isn't the best, but you sleep well.

Completely different products but my experience with ebay sellers is the same. 3 different products, sent messages requesting more info and no response. I moved on, not worth the chance.

How can a seller have an honest 100% if you can't even get an email response.

If the seller isn’t responding to communication when you are trying to purchase the item, can you experience to reply if there’s a problem?
