Be careful with Cartier. Great watch but horrible resale. I know cause I’m stuck with a few.
Gave one to my wife and lost two thirds on another when I sold. But back to your question
What about Invicta or Nixon?

So many choices. For myself it would be a blue strapped Zenith Defy 21 or used Breguet Type XXII.

Therefore a Speedmaster sapphire sandwich would be my choice and it would come it at well under half your budget and you'd be getting the most iconic chronograph ever made. I'd also consider a Breitling with the 01 movement or a Zenith El Primero.

There is a Zenith El Primero Mango on eBay in this price range - that would be my pick!

If it‘s not too late, let me suggest the old IWC Top Gun Chrono.

Ceramic Case, IWC own movement (in contrary to the more recent model) and became my most worn watch since I‘ve gotten her 1 year ago.

Could be had still and with a little discount should be within your budget.

The Roadster was discontinued in 2013. It was made for 10 years and plenty available for sale out there. Even a few NOS pop up now and again. I always liked them and still think they are a great looking watch. The quick change mechanism to swap out a bracelet or strap was outstanding. Whish alot of other brands did that.

I agree. I think IWC pilot models are good bang for the buck.. May also consider some of the Breitling pieces. The question is do you want a chronograph that is limited to a 30 or 60 min timer vs a chronograph that will track 12 hours.

If you don’t mind smaller and older, I bought an IWC 3706 Fliegerchrono this year for a relative bargain.

Outside of IWC and the rest mentioned above, I would urge you to consider the Longines Avigation ‘Big Eye’. That is a very handsome chrono as well and good value.

The Sinn 356 and Damasko DA56 are also excellent choices.
