Milgauss Lume Question
So, is this right?
Hands on all milgauss are always green lume. If plots are white, their lume color is green If plots are orange, their lume color is blue Did I get that right? So is this the only current model that uses the "older" green lume?

My random serial GV is
Hands and white plots: green lume 3,6,9 orange plots: blue lume I asked the question a while ago on a couple of topics with no definite answer as it's been documented that the newer models have moved from green to blue lume and wonder if this will be a trait across the whole range and if so what will happen with the dual lumed GV |

Just got a brand new fully stickered GV with serial SXXXXXUX and my lume is the same as Samuel's
I've seen some mention their new watch is all blue lume so I am wondering if the lume variation in dials has to do with the two different font patterns on "oyter perpetual" and "MILGAUSS"...? Here is the purchase link to my watch: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=358153 As you can see it's the dial where the "M" in milgauss lines-up more with the "T" in oyster and "oyster perpetual" is a little more stretched-out than the other dial in which the "M" falls between the "YS" in oyster. I know Samuel has the same dial font version as me: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=358087 |

I have a new random GV (new style warranty card) and all lume is blue.

I discussed warranty cards with DavidSW and he said all old cards will eventually get replaced at ADs with the white cards even if it happens to be an old unsold V-serial.
After further thought I don't think my theory on dial font has anything to do with it but rather there was some cutoff in the random serial range where all Milgauss GV were switched to all blue lume. So technically I have an older random serial that missed the cutoff for all blue -- I'm actually glad it did. The blue on the 3,6,9 isn't very good compared to the green. |

Also I have noticed the blue does require a more prolonged exposure time then the green for the same amount of output. |

At first I thought I had all blue because the 3,6,9 was so faint that it all looked the same. It wasn't until I used an LED flashlight that the blue really came to life and contrasted from the green. I must say, though, that I certainly did not buy the Milgauss for the lume but it's cool to note the differences in the model. |

The serial number really only tells you when the case was made so The dial font theory could still be valid.

I have a G-serial, with the 'M' of milgauss lining up with 'YS'
All lumes (including hands and markers) are blue. The 3,6,9 are slightly dimmer but still blue so is this new or old style dial? |

I have a GV with a G serial as well. I noticed in the Big Magnet thread that our dials are different, but have seen these differences in the allignment of Rolex, OP, and Milgauss before. My lume is like post 15 of this thread.

I got mine just recently, brand new, but I assume it's probably new old stock since it has the squashed oyster perpetual... |

Mine came from Ben Bridge jewelers in San Diego California May 2012.
Rolex seems to be adding more blue Lume to newer production so I'm guessing yours is newer. The bluer the newer. Lol Here is something interesting I took a photo if mine under black light or uv light and the lume inverts its green and blue colors. Completely different excitation emission energies I guess. |

Technically the all blue lume is newer when compared to M and V serials which had blue 3,6,9 and the rest green. The older dial is the original dial after all... The question is if Random and G serials are still being made simultaneously with different dials.
I'm only aware of two dial font variations and believe both have been around since the start of the GV in 2007. Of course all those had the original dial but the two dial variations could now mean different lume if both are still being produced side by side. It could also mean that lume color isn't necessarily any true indication of watch age beyond the V serial range. I could be wrong and probably am. Would be interesting to track those watches of members willing to participate. Could call 'M' of milgauss lining up with 'YS' Dial A and "M" lining up with 'T' Dial B, Original Lume vs Blue Lume, Serial, Date of purchase Something like this: Serial: Random Date of Purchase: 6/2014 Dial: B Lume: Original |

Serial: G
Date of Purchase: 5/2014 Dial: A Lume: All Blue Actually I was disappointed to find out that the lume on mine was all blue when I got it, I've always thought the different coloured lume was part of what makes it a milgauss. Any chance I could get it changed at RSC? |

I have had a couple of GV's, and I remember the lumes lacked a little bit...never seemed to bright.

So far it's 100% that Dial B (3) is regular lume and Dial A (2) is blue.

Interesting...
With Laszlo's contribution it's still 100% in that Dial B (3) is regular lume and Dial A (3) is blue. |

Very interesting indeed. Hope we see others contribute to this correlation study.
