Congratulations. Love targa. Porsche doesn't do the current year + 1 model?

I don’t know. New owner here.

The latest is the 992 which is mine. They’ll release 992.2 soon but I guess the entry cars first. That’s what I think I heard.

Thank you so much!!

What year is that? What model? How long have you had it? You cannot beat the allure of the older models in my opinion.

That’s a really lovely looking car!!

It is an 85 G body. I inherited it from my aunt when my uncle passed away in 2021. It hadn’t been driven in a few years (when I started it the first time so much smoke came out I think I contributed 5 degrees to global warming!) so it took a few months, a few $$$$ to get it up and running and a lot of elbow grease to get it looking like it does now. Driving it on curvy back roads with the top off is the only way to drive it. I’m sure you will have the same experience with yours.
The older models have a great nostalgia to them. The quirks, smells and sounds are all part of the appeal. I also love the analog driving experience.
Do you plan to track or do any autocross with yours?

What a lovely story, I bet your uncle is smiling down on you, bless him.

You made me chuckle with the smoke/5C addition to global warming.

No, I won’t track the car, will be doing a little bit of that in Silverstone with their cars, not mine … I’ve never driven a 911 before (not even Road tested it…. Call me a fool…) lol.

I totally agree with you, there’s a beautiful nostalgia feel about this car - and its contemporaries I’m sure. I love the fact you lovingly restored your 85G. Totally worth it I’m sure!

Thanks for sharing this lovely story by the way!

I can’t wait to see your future baby. Have you ordered it yet, or will you be buying a used car?

I would highly recommend doing an autocross event after you feel comfortable driving it. I did one with mine (and also got to do a few “parade” laps around a real track which was awesome) and my knowledge of how the car handles and confidence driving it went up significantly.

Congrats!

The classic Porsches are my passion but there's no doubt that the new ones are spectacular cars.

Assuming both are yours? They’re gorgeous. If I had the space I’d totally get a classic Porsche!

Thank you - I’ll definitely look into it. Love the idea of the “parade laps”! I signed up to the Porsche club so I hope I’ll start trying some of these activities!
