They should stop this Cellini silliness and market them as straight Rolex. Some of those "Cellini" models are beautiful and would sell well if they were merged into the Rolex marketing. The real nice complications seem to reside in the Cellini line for some reason. I don't see a problem with a multi complication dress watch from Rolex.

Remove the Cellini name. Call it anything else in the world and it would sell! Cellini has bad mojo!

Rolex makes a beautiful blue dial. And a hideous blue strap. I do not understand the blue strap. Black is fine. Has been for 100 years. The fugly strap takes away from an otherwise beautiful watch.

I feel the same way about the blue leather strap my Black Bay came on has never seen the light of day.

And I agree, rebrand it as Rolex and they fly off of the shelves.

Patek also releasing blue dial on blue strap. I think it is a nice look, to each his own. BTW you could always switch it out for a black strap too.

Hi,

Whilst it's not to my taste, I think it's a very subtle blue strap. Certainly far subtler than the straps that were available for some of the Day-Date models when it was re-introduced on a strap in 2013, such as:

http://www.rolex.com/watches/day-date/m118139-0007.html

And:

http://www.rolex.com/watches/day-date/m118138-0003.html

Of course, as with all things it's just a matter of taste. I can see the appeal in theory of the green Day-Date, for example. I just don't know if it's something I'd be happy to look at 24/7 day in, day out, for the rest of my life, if you know what I mean.

It's good to see them still incrementally evolving the new Cellini line. Who knows what the future has in store for it - additional complications, perhaps ?

Agree. And that is what I do. I have had every combo of strap known to man on there. It is fun to play with. Probably should have got with a bracelet but AD didn't have one and made me a hell of a deal on the one he had. And I have a Tudor bracelet sitting there for me to pick up. Just have to get down there.

And I think Omega did a blue strap speedy for Basel this year two. Still, 2 wrongs don't make a right, but 3 lefts do!!

Hi,

In the UK, the white gold Cellini Date with blue dial and strap will retail for £11,900 (the same price I believe as all the other Cellini Date models). Cellini Time goes for £10,150 and Cellini Dual Time for £12,900.

Funny, Strap swapping can make all the difference.

On another note i can see this blue dial cellini and all the new ones being snatched up at great used prices in the future.
How many other modern PM Rolex's can be bought sub-10k used?
