The Daytona WG and SS dials are very different and easily distinguish the two metals. I think they should have done the same with the YM SS and made something visibly different on the dial or bezel, so I do think its a tough break on the WG owners.

As for the YM-II, while I appreciate the technical excellence of the movement I'm not sold on the aesthetics..
If they make and sell a zillion of these then collectability will be questionable, if on the other hand it does not get sales traction and it is withdrawn in a couple of years it will be very collectable.

So if SS is cannibalizing YG/WG/RGTT new sales, there will be less YG/WG/RGTT YMII's in the second hand market. Right? Working upon that logic what makes you surmise that this will depress WG/YG/RGTT model prices? If your phenomenon plays out, the WG/YG/RGTT will be even MORE scarce 2nd hand. IMO - The entry of a full SS model isn't going to detract from the WG/YG/TTRG prices. In this price range you purchase based on preference. Not necessity. On topic - the SSYMII is simply stunning. Just my .02. YMMV. |

The YMII is nice and heavy. But not as heavy as this guy!
In fact I love the heft of it. When I put on my GMT or Datejust, or old Subs they can't compare in wrist feel. I've come to prefer the heavier feel and distinct presence of a larger and heavier wristwatch. And my wrists aren't that big. |

Very nice looking watch. Too much money for SS.
If they were $12K USD then they would sell lots of them. |

The MSRP on the SS SD (44mm, but with a less complicated movement) is $12K. I'm no expert but then again it doesn't take an expert to figure out the MSRP of this new piece. I'm thinking the SSYMii will come in at anywhere from 16-19kUSD MSRP. |

I like the YMII, but cannot understand why Rolex finds it necessary to put names on all their watches. The name on the bezel is a little much. Why doesn't Rolex follow the lead of either AP or PP in this regard.

Agree with those that say "Yatch-Master II" is too much. I bet the next model will not have it, if Rolex were to listen to the consensus

If the MSRP of SS model will be in the 19-21k range. It will make the all gold look like a deal(if you didn't pay full Msrp that is)

I'm still torn between the YG and SS models. I guess it'll depend on which is the better deal.

All gold ones can be had for $31500 BNIB & SS once out will be around 19K-21K(probably no discounts for a while). If that is the case clearly all gold is a better value between the two. IMHO
