Looks nice, but not for me since I already have a great watch on my wrist.

I have a Timex Expedition in a drawer that to my astonishment my old car fob batteries can actually occupy when they go unresponsive.. Recycle ftw.

The reason I love mechanical watches is I feel there is a connection between the wearer and watch that doesn't exist with quartz. So, at that point, it's not snobbery, it's a preference. Now, snobbery is only appreciating expensive mechanical watches -- For example, I love my Seiko Blue Lagoon despite fact that it cost less than a nice watch strap.

Looks pretty cool. But would you really wear it? I think not

Anyhow, yes, you can probably swim with a 50m WR watch and definitely rinse it off in a sink, but keeping water exposure to a minimum is probably recommended. Definitely not intended for diving, that's for sure.

Well that would be pretty ridiculous since it is meant to commemorate the first Timex quartz watch.

Delighted to come on here and see a thread on the new Timex. Really cool looking watch.

I'd seriously consider one but I just don't think I'd ever actually wear it. Already have too many affordable watches that simply do not get worn.

But if you like the look and you think you'll get the wear out of it then I'd definitely say go for it!

Looks pretty good to me. i'd wear it. And that 12 hour bezel is useful, too. A great travel watch, with cool retro styling.

Still got to move it out of the Rolex section though

Nothing dubious about a Miyota 8215 movement – parent company is Citizen.
The most basic of decent Japanese automatic movements, somewhat (loosely) equivalent to the ETA 2824.

If the new Timex release had of been larger in case diameter I would have bought one. I have a lot of watches and some of them are not very expensive but a lot of fun. I also own some expensive ones and Rolex is represented in that number. Have some fun with collecting and your collection. A space exists for watches like this.

Agreeing for the most part. Just posting the number they had listed for the watch. Cleaning my hands with a hose after yard work will be about the most water it sees.

Totally agree. Mechanical and automatic watches depend on the wearer to keep running, whether it's from daily winding or from daily wear. For me, that's the attraction. I couldn't care less about the price point. It's in the beauty of the micro machine on my wrist that I admire and beauty can be found in almost all price levels.

With that being said, I really like the look of the new Timex.

Really glad I picked this up.. love the aesthetics, and love what it represents as a re-issue of a significant piece in timex history.

It's ugly. It looks like a grandpa watch. The only grandpa watch I would wear, would be one that my grandpa owned.

But, my tastes are different than others.

I get it. But it's not for me. I would rather have vintage.
