5205 favourite dial

What’s your favourite 5205 dial in the current catalogue?

I’m thinking of a 5205 as my first Patek and looking for some advice

5205G-013, although the black-r is great.

I wonder when these will be discontinued.

why does the case for the blue dial look different? Or are they all the same?

I'm biased but I went with the Black Dial R.

The Blue G is a close second.

It depends what you are after. The G can allow it to be more casual vs any R material but something about this piece speaks volumes more with a warmer gold.

The White R is nice, but a tad too dressy for me (considering my small collection).

May be a twinge of bias, but I have to say the 5205 is up there in Patek’s most beautiful references (under, say, $125k). It’s a super unique design, very interesting case, just a really well done look. I like the blue, but the RG black dial is breathtakingly beautiful.

I like the gradient blue in the 013. I always like watches with blue dial.

Opaline white all the way. Black is nice although arguably more trendy and more fatiguing over time, also harder to read. The 5205 opaline white/RG combination is classic, elegant and timeless.

Of course, this is all just opinion. 5205 comes in different flavors specifically to ensure that whichever appeals to you is by definition the best for you.

Definitely biased as I bought the G-013 a few months ago but it's barely left my wrist since

Beautiful pic.

I like them all. My favorite is R-001.

I voted for the white dial. I was unable to read the black dialing most forms of lighting. I have not seen the blue dial version. The white dial is easy to read and more traditional

For me, it's the 5205R-001 (white dial). It's the quintessential daily wear for a smart casual dresser. I don't own it, but have tried it on: from shorts and a t-shirt, to jeans and a sweatshirt / jumper, to slacks and collared shirt, to suit - it goes with it all. It's sleek, elegant, and truly timeless.

The 5205R-010 (black) is a more elegant, dressy piece, and the inky black dial is stunning in person. I prefer white dials generally, but I think a strong argument can be made for black.

The 5205g variants are nice, but the watch sings in rose gold.

Thinking about this thread...I wonder if we'll see a 5205P at some point. That would be special!

1) Black dial - I am biased as I own the watch and it is stunning. 2) Blue dial - as I love blue dials and own both the Daytona and Smurf with blue dials.

I just tried the watch and would definately suggest trying it on your hand as 40 mm was a bit smaller for my wrist, so now going for rg 5905 in the brown dial.

From the above definately rg black :)

Black on Rose is amazing but voted for Blue on White due to versatility. Very hard to dress down the Black one

Looks amazing. The white certainly appears to get the least love, but it certainly is still one of the most beautiful watches I’ve seen!

Any idea if the RG will be discontinued soon? Looks like the old grey dial was an 8-year cycle, so assuming similar it'll be over 8 for the RG (also COVID consideration).
