I agree with everything you said about the 997.1/2 GT3 comparison in stock form. One really can’t go wrong with either or any 911 in any generation for that matter. I remember my first 911 experience and that was in a 996 Carrera cabrio. It was a blast to drive and the dynamics were simply amazing. |

It is certainly pretty tough.. they wear but usually don't blow up.. and is rebuildable.
Another cool thing about it is that the architecture has been around for a long time and is used on Porsche's racing platform (Cup cars), so a lot of parts are interchangeable. So when I dropped engine for the coolant fitting welding, I had the flywheel / clutch / ring gear / etc. replaced (while in there kind of deal) with parts from the 997.2 RS 4.0. And as it turned out, the lightweight flywheel actually has a 964 part #, as it was from the 964 Cup. (I think it weights in at only 8.2 lbs if I remember correctly) |

When I sold my 997.2 GTS I was glad i had gotten silver (plus I loved the look). If you don't care about resale and want some color, Porsche makes some amazing blues, including their new Miami Blue. |

Go with what you like and enjoy the heck out of it instead of thinking selling before buying. For best resale though, rare or flashy colors work best on rare models, say GT3s, RS models, etc. If you are going for a Carrera, S, or GTS then I recommend a more conservative color. Note how the cabin is the exact Bluesy colour! Porsche call it Cobalt blue.

No Macans? :-)
Well, some would say this is not a "real" Porsche (especially since it's a base model Macan), but it definitely is more comfortable drive than the 1981 911SC I had. And the heater works, and... :-)

Nothing to contribute in terms of a Porsche but I do love them and probably one day soon!? Fantastic pics! Have really enjoyed looking through all your beautiful cars and awesome watches!
