AP Diver Curiosity...
Hey Guys,
Just out of curiosity, how does the AP Diver 15710st compare to a Rolex Submariner in terms of ruggedness for daily wearing, perhaps one and only. I know the Submariner is much more service friendly. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Depends if you mind scratches on the SS bezel. The watch is great for daily wear but non ceramic bezels can show more scratches if you don’t have wrist awareness.
I used the FC diver as a daily beater for over 5 years and still looks new. It held up much better than the DSSD that was my daily beater prior to the AP. Service for a diver is $930 with tax and shipping in the US and usually takes about a month. |

ceramic bezel vs steel bezel. Other than that im sure they could handle the same amount of daily wear. You problem is primarily appearance and how you want your watch to look.

Perfectly fine for daily wear – diving under most desks, washing hands whilst being worn, and the odd snooze on the sofa (couch)… just don’t expect ±2 seconds per day accuracy.
Your location means you’ll probably use Clearwater APSC – so shouldn’t have much to worry about when it comes to lengthy service timeframes. Coming from a Sub with its narrow bracelet, the ROO will take a bit of getting used to. The lume is nothing really to write home about – as good/poor as the Rolex’s, at best. So long as you go in with your eyes wide open, you’ll have no complaints, but if you think it’s an expensive Rolex alternative, you’re in for a rude awakening. |

to me it is just too top heavy. it is an exquisite time piece though. i mean top notch.
i am sure it is more than durable but is the movement as reliable as a rolex sub? no.

Been very happy with mine, wearing on a daily basis for the last 6 months or so.
Super comfy on the rubber strap, a few small dings on the bezel and some hairline scratches, but nothing that bothers me too much. I will take it off if I know I am doing something that will for sure cause damage and for sport, but otherwise for 99% of daily activities no issues whatsoever. I'm sure it could handle the rest, but why cause unnecessary damage if it can be avoided.

Was looking at the AP Diver, BP FF and SD43 together and I'd put in SS the AP first, but I most loved the BP FF in RG.

Daily wear is just fine. Maybe you get a scratch or two on the bezel. But that’s the life of an AP owner.

Both equally reliable and rugged ,but I'd rather look at a AP diver than a sub.

I've worn the Diver as a daily as well as the Sub and as far as ruggedness, etc to me they're pretty equal.
Everyone always talks about scratches and all - with the slightest bit of wrist awareness you'll be a-ok. And I'd rather be looking down at a Diver as well. |

I know it’s not the question, but the diver wears -way- bigger on the wrist.

I wear my diver almost daily and it definitely now has some "history" on the bezel. Sub probably stands up to abuse better but I still choose to wear my diver more often.

The movements are about the same as far as robustness and fitness for daily wear.
As everyone else has said, the AP will show marks on the bezel whereas the ceramic bezel of the Sub will not. Regarding service, I'm not sure I'd say that the Rolex is more service friendly. My recent experiences with RSC have not been good, but APSC has glowing reviews from people here who have experience with them. |
