Interesting. Looks like AP is increasing focus on not just selling a watch but selling an experience as well.

Cool! I’m up for doing a trip there
So , a hypothetical for you all - what watch(es) would you bring if you stayed there? |

I'd prefer they just make more watches and stop this BS artificial scarcity crap they're doing with certain pieces. Obnoxious. May push me away from the brand. The last thing I want them to do is make a freakin' hotel.

At least make it fun and make a black diamond run if you are going to do it. They are selling beginner skiing and watches.

in switzerland the comon standard is sporting chinese men in underwear at the hotel when u open ur door. Now skiing in ur underwear to the bathroom would be a complete orgasm to-me |

Rarity, exclusivity and scarity are all part of the luxury game I’m afraid.

where im from, skiing with a chairlift is luxury. Otherwise you have snowshoes, an avalanche beacon, skis, and a shovel. Your lucky to get out alive .

montana. Near the rocky mountain front. The ski areas are overrun with californians so we were into backcountry skiing instead.

Maybe I'm just too simple. I don't care if someone else has what I have as long as I love the way a piece looks and feels, whether it's clothing or watches. If AP has the ability to produce RO cases and movements but just isn't releasing blue dial ones to drive up demand, it's just silly. I'm trying to decide between a silver RO and blue RO and the fact that both aren't available even though there is an adequate but limited supply of black/silver ROs is just absurd. And the secondary markets aren't helping. As much as I love the look of these watches it's a huge turnoff to not be able to buy something at this price point despite being ready, able, and willing. It would be a bad decision on my part to pay over retail for something that will drop in value and never recover its initial purchase price, you know? I don't buy with resale in mind but it's just poor financial management to pay more than MSRP for a luxury good. |

Well, you won't be obligated to stay there, so why get so upset about it, its not costing you a dime? Indeed are you an AP owner? It is clearly and obviously a marketing venture, a place to take AP clients and make them feel special. Its not intended as a general overnight stay for non-watch types. For the average AP owner, if AP get the 'package' right it will be a strong marketing pull, and a trip to be very much envied.

i wonder if this means it will be more accessible? I mean that in a good way.
If its near the museum and its a branded hotel (as it looks quite large) then hopefully you can go on your own and also see the museum.I doubt AP sponsored events can fill that year round. If you can just book it and don't have to play the networking and the who you know game it could be really good. I could be wrong but as it stands currently i don't think the museum is open to the public and its only invitation only? It that correct?

guess so, but the normal hotel price in Switzerland is around that pricepoint quite often to
and it ain't necesarry a luxury hotel than to... however u can find much cheaper and more luxury places to stay they as well but i would never go without a booking in front of my trip and just ring the doorbell at a hotel there anyway |
