After a long wait and search

After a long wait and searching everywhere finally got the watch. The Ad called me up and said they have the Skydweller stainless steel but unfortunately they called the wrong person. But they said since they called the wrong person they will give it to me after an hour drive to go the Ad. They told me I need to buy another watch to be able to buy the SD. At first they told me I need to spend minimum 10t on the other watch to buy the SD with no discount. After debating what I’m going to get they told me that the other buyer would spend 14t on the second watch. So I was for to look at a more expensive piece. After making a descion they told me that they need to leave already and ask me to come back the next day to pick up the watch. It’s mix emotion I’m happy that I got the Sky dweller at the same time I felt that I got pushed to buy another watch which I don’t need just to get the Skydweller. But it’s done here’s the picture guys

Crazy, but they're getting away with it.

Congrats on two great pieces, may as well enjoy the hell out of them and forget about the negative parts now. Enjoy!

So $15k for the SD and another $14k on something else. For that much, $29k+ you are getting awfully close to PM SD money. what's another few $$$$ to prove a point? With a discount from a grey, DavidSW has a cpl around $36k but still...... I may have just shopped for a deal on PM. Still, fabulous piece

Congrats on the pick up, and I hope / trust you're happy with it, but damn........that's some BS by the dealer. Essentially you paid about a $3K premium for it then, seeing you could have picked up the Bluesy a lot less through the TS's or slightly used.

Were you even considering adding a Bluesy to the collection???

If you paid tax, you're even further in the hole. Personally I would have told the AD to stick it!

I’m not interested in getting the bluesy but that’s the closest to 14t that I can buy which 13400 plus tax time to find another Dealer

congrats on the new watch!

Unbelievable buying story though, I would change the AD and keep waiting. Not worth to build relationship in the future.

Agree 100%.

Have you ever bought a watch from this AD before? Or was this you cold calling around the region and getting them to put you on a "list" sight unseen?

Glad you got the SkyD you wanted. That said, flip the bluesy and try to recoup some of your cash. That’s terrible business practice by the AD. I would write a letter to Rolex USA informing them what took place.

Maybe but if the AD's want to practice this way, that's the environment they will create by doing so.

Congratulations! Beautiful watches!
I may be a new collector, and new to this "Game" but some AD's really infuriate me. In this situation I would probably have walked. I know they want us to spend to be considered for other pieces, but in this situation I think I would report the behavior.. It's too blatant for me. I will buy what I want to buy, and I don't want anyone to pressure me or behave in the way that they did with you.

That said, if you're fine with two watches, no big deal, but I would be greatly offended.

After a long wait and search

Congratulations on 2 fantastic watches. Yes it feels bad to be pushed to buy watches that you don’t need just to get the watch you want but sometimes it makes sense. For me getting another watch is better than paying premium to GS.

Last year my ad offered me to buy 3 Tudor watches and get a ceramic Daytona. I rejected the offer and now I totally regret it. Not only I can’t get the Daytona close to that price but also the wait is getting crazier and no sign I will be getting it unless I pay the premium to a GS which is almost the same price of the 3 tudors without really getting them.

The bluesy is great watch ....

I think you should name and shame the AD.

Congrats on the SD. Your salesperson took you for a ride on the story, however.
