I've seen one in person at Watches of Switzerland and was very impressed with its overall finish and heft.

not a bad looking chrono.. have you also looked at the omega SMP chrono? (i especially like the black faced one..) or some of the BA line? may be worth casting your eyes over these before the final decision.

Not a great Tag fan myself, but they have improved a lot lately, but given
a choice would go for a Omega over any Tag.

Mate, you grew to like Pannys so a chrono will be a breeze.

That is a nice Tag and I used to love the older link series.Unfortunately they are a little out there for me now and the 2000 series seems to be the way to go in Tag.

Can't do the chronos, they just don't get me excited. I had a pre Tiger Tudor, got rid of it. I also turned down a SS Daytona at list cause I just did not want it. I even tried to love the 196 Daylight from Panerai, it works for the Transporter, but I can't.

I'll take a GMT function over the chrono function anyday.

As for useful functionality, I agree with you, Daren. I hardly ever use the chrono function. However, I do like complications, so it's just one more useless complication that I like to have on a watch.

Part of what has drawn me to Panerai is the simplicity of the dials Ed. I love the basic "nuts and bolts" of them.

But again, that is the beauty of these forums, if we all liked the same watch this place would be really

Got to agree with both of you on that myself like the vintage watches all makes. But like Daren prefer a simple easy to read dial, not a lover of very
busy looking dials.
