Question for rose gold Daytona owners

I’m considering buying a full rose gold bracelet for my everrose DaytonaC on oyster flex.

I’ve seen a few prices for the bracelet, It almost makes more sense to just buy a full rose gold Daytona, the problem is that they don’t come with the ceramic bezel, which I like a lot.

Anyone gone down this road before? Where did you end up?

...don’t think you can go down that road
My understanding is a bracelet won’t fit on an Oysterflex model
Sometimes I’m right but then I can be wrong.

You can't. The endlinks on your case are fixed in place and not removable by the owner. There are pins inside the endlinks but you have to remove the bezel to remove the endlinks.

You'll have to buy a different watch if you want it on a bracelet.

Enjoy it as-is.

I wonder when or if Rolex will add the Ceramic bezel to the remainder of the PM Daytona models.

Not possible. The fixed end links on the strap daytonas prevent a bracelet from being added.

The "fixed" end link of the Oysterflex models are actually removable. If you remove the bezel, the fixed links come out. The real question is whether a 116505 bracelet will fit once the the fixed end links are removed. I believe the cases for both the 116515 and 116505 are identical and the lug holes are in the same spots. So technically, a 116505 bracelet should fit on a 116515 with the fixed end link removed.

You could always buy a rose gold Daytona and put a after market ceramic bezel for around $200 just don’t get rid of the original I own a 116505 and considered doing that myself shouldn’t be a big dealt I do

I'm holding out hope that Basel 2020 will finally yield a ceramic bezel with full gold bracelet option (which i can then retrofit with Oysterflex or Rubberb). Not holding my breath though...

Question for rose gold Daytona owners

This guy seems to be pretty confident about the PM Daytonas getting ceramic bezels. I got my fingers crossed for his prediction about the Coke GMT on an oyster bracelet.

Hey guys I realize I’m bumping a 3 year old thread so don’t blast me too hard but has this truly been ruled out/not possible?

Here’s my thoughts. In the one pic this is a Zenith Daytona 519. Not a 6 digit Daytona. Cases have changed in the last decade plus since Rolex made the 5 digit Daytonas right?

515 and 505 are the same cases.

Once the bezel is reinstalled won’t it hide the top part of the engraved part of the case?

To those who say just buy a 116505 and buy an aftermarket ceramic bezel or real thing, like that’s possible, well it might be, I’m in a unique situation where I have a 715. On the 715 all the bracelet parts are interchangeable with a 505. Both have 20mm lug width. Granted I don’t own a 505 but if 505 and 515 have the same cases then aren’t we good to go? FWIW I have asked a few watch makers and they say the same which is send me the parts and we will see. Can I do that? Sure. Just asking being TRF has thousands of members and maybe someone has tried this since 2020.

Thoughts?

It’s easier to buy a good quality ceramic bezel and install it on the 116505. Aftermarket bracelets for the 116515LN is too expensive and involves much more hassle with the end-links.

Yes it can. Its been done on SS and full PM models here on Trf. Dont think I have ever seen anyone do it to a TT model but it can.

I've modded a 520 to look like a 500 and a 523 to look like a 503 long before Rolex ever did

Thank you for chiming in, the rg oyster bracelet on a rg case with ceramic bezel would definitely look great IMO.

Does the gold bezel attract scratches easily?
