3 AD visits in the past week - brutal

Made 3 visits to ADs in the past week. Absolutely brutal.

1. Canada. Counted 73 DJs and 3 YM2s. No other watches on display. 5 SAs and 0 customers. Great service, as is always the case at this AD, even if they never have any watches that I want.

2. U.S. Well known AD chain the Southeast. 2 SAs eating take out Chinese food on the display case at the same time. Seemed slightly miffed that I actually chose to enter the store and interrupt their dinner. One of the SAs finally stood up to "greet" me reluctantly. Perhaps 12 DJs in the display. They said that was all they had in the store, nothing else. When I said my wife was interested in a YG DD (the green one), one SA (the one that stood up) got more energetic and said they might have one in their safe in the back.

3. U.S. See photo. I didn't even bother entering this store. A few SAs and a security guard.

Whoa! That last pic is crazy... There's an AD here that is always pretty bare but I've never seen a case completely empty. And I love that you actually counted 73 DJ!

My travels to Connecticut took me to 3 ADs, and I had a similar experience. No SA’s we’re having their lunch on the display case tho

I would have walked in and jokingly (but seriously) asked them if they were going out of business because their empty store sure makes it seem so.

That SE chain may be the one that keeps all their gold pieces in the safe, never on display. Very good for security purposes to be sure. Seems to me making people ask what PM they might have in the safe would be the hardest way to spontaneously sell the PM pieces. Most people probably seeing nothing just walk out.

Definitely not. They always have more stock than that, plus carry multiple brands.

No, not the one that my wife wanted. They offered to get one to the store for my wife to look at if I put down a 20% deposit first.

I would have walked into that last one and told them you came by to purchase a White Daytona just for the fun of it.

It is. Look at the reflection in the glass. I was there this weekend. They had a few in the windows but was definitely the lowest I’ve seen their stock. Glad I got my LV from them years ago before the shortage.

Wow. I haven’t purchase my first Rolex yet but I’ll be using a smaller family owned AD instead of a chain. I’m not even after a SS model, (I’m after a YM on OF) but feel like I’ll be treated better there.

That’s crazy, I was there two weeks ago and I don’t remember it looking anything like that.

All of their other brands would be to the left just outside of the picture. I’ve tried to buy watches there but they either don’t have the stock or wouldn’t budge on the price at all. Tried to buy the FG Rootbeer they had late 2018/early 2019 and a datejust for my wife that’s probably still sitting in the case a year later.

Is lenkendorfers as bare as other ADs? I was in Fink's at Dulles few weeks ago and they were completely bare except for a handful of DJs.

You have described what is happening in Rolex stores worldwide
By the way...it was wrong for the sales assistant to say...
....”that was all they had in the store, nothing else”....
A good sales assistant says...we have a great selection
Which would be of interest to you ?

Rolex CEO Dufour arrived at Rolex in 2014
after working at Zenith, Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin, and a few other brands -
He came to apply his superb managing style to Rolex as well.
When I heard the news ...I wondered how long it will take for Rolex
to become as magnificent as those other brands he had elevated to an
illustrious Horological status ...lol...you can read the results In The above post

I have been involved with the Rolex marque since 1969...
and what I see happening today leaves me speechless

May as well use it as a kitchen table! Especially if the damn thing is completely empty.

Rolex loves this. It is better than having unsold watches sitting around gathering dust and then being sold at a discount on Jomashop.

Lovely display cases. I wonder when they will put LEGO in to decorate them properly.
