Day Date 18038 advice needed

Can someone tell me if I am missing something looking at the state of this watch? It has a tapestry dial which makes it a bit more special than a regular champagne dial. Lugs look alright? Bezel isn't that crisp, but it's 40 years old.

The bracelet has a bit of stretch but nothing too severe (compared to others Day Dates in the 10-12k usd region).

I'm not going to buy anything this year but I would appreciate the feedback. It feels like my head is exploding trying to look at all the tiny details and giving the watch an overall score. In my opinion this get's a 7/10.

Usually the ones I'm offered have much worse polish jobs. I suspect that gold gets polished often because it's so easy to do. I do like this example and would personally probably consider it an 8 out of 10.

That's something that worries me. I want the gold to pop but after all those years, the different shades of yellow gold it really depends I guess.

I think if I ever buy one I need to see it in real life.

On the case between the lugs

Flutes have been polished down and it’s missing one link from bracelet and there is stretch. Overall it’s in much better condition than a lot of 18038’s I see. Nothing that can’t be fixed.

I wouldn't buy a watch whose serial number is no longer present.
