For all you guys complaining that an 1803 is too hard to set...

The hardest part is moving the time backwards or forwards to get it to the correct day of the week. From there the date is a semi-quickset (like Omega cal. 562 Constellations, e.g., or modern Nomos). I toggle my 1806 between midnight and 9 PM to advance the date.

It amazes me how many people either own one and never set it properly, or even how many dealers have no idea.

Also, the Tudor Monte Carlo movements have semi-quickset dates.

Right. It's pretty easy to set.

Some of the misleading YouTube videos show the user cycling through all 24 hours to change the date, but all you need to do is wind the hour hand past 12 o'clock to move the date forward one day, then wind it back to before 12 o'clock, and then wind it forward past 12 to change the date again, as many times as you need.

Takes only a couple of minutes to set the day and date even if you have to cycle right through the whole month. Don't let it put you off owning an awesome 180x!

For this reason my Day-Date gets about 10x the wrist time of my 1675 (setting that is so tiresome I'm going to sell the watch, I never wear it because of that hassle). I set the 1803 this morning, took me about two minutes, you're right!

Yup. 1675 is harder to set, as you have to cycle right through 24 hours to change the date. 1680 Subs, too! Still, all quality time with yourself.

I didn't wore mine for 2 months because of this.

I've been wearing other watches for 1-2 weeks to really wear them again.So I took the watch and luckily it was the 25th and that was the same date it stopped ticking the month before. So the seconds start running, I moved the hour and stupid me, the date did jump. Perhaps I should have waited until the day after. So I put it back and waited another month.

I never expected this could be such a hassle. I've read about it in the past but I guess you really have to experience it. In the end, I can't complain.

That's the reason why mine is sitting on a watch winder all the time ! hahaha

You really only need 4 watches, let them expire as follows. 1 on the 8th 2nd on the 16th 3rd on the 24th and the last one on the 31st . And then wear according to that sequence. It will minimize all the work.
