Small Victories

I’ve had this watch since I was about 16 and essentially a full set minus the original Bufkor box.

In today’s world of people waiting years for GMT masters and Daytona’s, or the mess of vintage hunting, sorting through countless frankenvintage pieces and outlandish prices on almost everything. Landing the Bufkor box I’ve been looking for at a non crazy modern Rolex price made my day almost as much as adding another watch to the collection.

My $100 addition. I know it’s not mint, but where most people want $300 for them I’m pretty happy with it after all this time.

I know it’s just a box. It may be a bit silly to be excited for it, but I’m happy. Just sharing after all this time.

Very nice Gmt and you must have lots of stories behind this watch since you own it since 16 :). Congrats and happy for you too to complete the set with that new box.

The Bufkor box is only meant for US market and do ensure that your paper indicates that watch was sold in USA so that it is correct box for your lovely GMT.

Thank you all for the kind words.

It was originally a US market watch the first owner knew my father in some way and sold it to my father after he only had it about a year. My father wore it ever since until I was about 16 and it wasn’t keeping time anymore due to water entry. My father took it in and they had sent it to Geneva at some point for a repair estimate in the early 2000s. At this point my dad couldn’t afford to fix it, and knew I always admired it so he traded me a newer quartz Seiko for it.

I still wore it for years after that not knowing much more about who to send it to. Finally learned a bit more about who can do them and had it fixed properly only replacing what really needed it.

Glad to have it all united as a set again. Minus the outer cardboard box, back on the eBay hunt for that.

I have one of those for years but didn't know what watch it was for.
Are there any numbers on the bottom?

There aren’t. It’s just leather on the bottom, and the inner box just has Bufkor USA in the plastic. No reference numbers to speak of.

Thanks to all again for the kind comments.
