I'm interested in adding a vintage dress piece to my collection and came across this watch on the bay. I have zero knowledge of older pieces and the research I did on this seems to check out ok, but I would love to have some feedback from some members with experience in vintage watches. Thanks

I can't help on the specific model, but it looks reasonable to me. I'd like to look at the dial pics on a better screen than my phone though.

Plug the pictures into a google image search to make sure they haven't been stolen from another seller.

Good looking watch.

Hi, this is a ref. KO 2849 Seamaster, steel case and gold capped as per the ad. Case, case back and movement appear correct, but I am not so sure about the dial & hands. I have not seen this (older) type smooth dauphine hands on a thin "stick" marker dial, which looks more modern to me. Also, the crystal in the photos looks to be to be too high for the watch and is probably a later and incorrect aftermarket replacement. As the previous poster also suggests, check this reference on Google to get an idea of what variations are out there.

I am not an expert on Seamasters and to be on the safe side I recommend you post your question on the omega forum (omegaforums.net), where there are several very capable & friendly seamaster experts who can put your mind at ease or tell you to run...

I need to correct what I said above, since I just came across a similar watch for sale in this link

Judging by its patina, the dial and hands are likely original, so that would suggest that the one you are looking at may indeed be a period correct combination.

Still, the dial does look very pristine for a late 50-ies early 60-ies watch.

As said, best check with the real Omega experts.

The movement and case look fine, but as others have said, not sure about the dial and hands. The dial appears to be refinished. The hands look to be ok, but I don't know enough about this particular model to tell you with certainty. Best of luck!
