Icon5 Another 1601 question

I've come across a 1601 from approximately 1971 that has lumed hands, but no lume on the dial (no lume plots anywhere). I've not seen this before and am wondering if anyone out there can tell me if such a setup is indeed original, or if at some point the dial or hands were changed and this represents a mismatch. Thanks for your advice!

are you referring to the tiny little lume dots at the end of the hour indices on the dial? as in those are missing? its not uncommon to have those eroded away over time but yes generally if the hands have no lume (could be full steel hands or steel hands with black marked instead of the lume), the dial has no lume and vice versa if hands does have lume.

Yes exactly, no tiny little lume dots at the end of the hour indeces. Though it looks as though there never were any to erode.

My 1973 1601 has no lume on the hands or the dial. I think (don’t quote me on this) that if the dial has lume then so should the hands & if no lume on the dial then the same on the hands. There are some really experienced people on here that I’m sure can confirm or deny

This looks to be a 1600 not a 1601 due to the smooth bezel? 1601 has a fluted bezel like mine. Cheers

It's indeed a 1601 as per the stamp on the case. In the past someone must have changed out the bezel for a smooth one...
