Cartier Ballon Bleu Thoughts?

Hello all!

I’m planning on scooping a cartier ballon bleu 33 mm for the misses birthday.

Any thoughts on it? I was going for the automatic.

The main thing that matters is does she like the watch? If so, great. An automatic Ballon Bleu is a great choice if she likes it.

She’s definitely a fan but also likes their bracelets (which I’m not a fan of).

If everyone here was concerned about it being a poor quality watch I would have gone with the bracelet.

But good feedback and much appreciated!

My wife’s watch is 33mm, keep in mind she is very small, so it might look big on her wrist.

If she’s given you some clues that she likes that watch then it’s a great piece and I think looks great! But if you are buying it because you like it and believes she will... well sometimes that just doesn’t work out especially in my case where I’d have to take my wife in to pick her own watch unless I knew for sure she would love it.

We tried it on together. She liked the 33 mm and the solid gold women’s datejust.

Seeing how she doesn’t really wear watches the datejust comes later.

I tried to get them to sell me a Hulk if I bought a PM datejust, and a SS datejust for her dad, and they wouldn’t even put me on the list.

So the ballon it is!

Thanks again!

I was just in the Cartier store earlier this evening to get my wife's bracelet repaired. I was planning on getting her a 39 mm OP for X-mas, but she doesn't wear watches. Decided to ditch the idea of the watch and get her another bracelet. She'll definitely love the Juste Un Clou. A watch would just sit idle. Bottom line, IMO, get what she'll want to wear, not what you prefer.
