GS Suggestions

Ive got a chocolate dial hi beat and a snowflake.

Thinking of a blue dial GS.

To be different from other two, am thinking either to get a manual winding one or HAQ. But leaning towards manual.

Also, maybe one with other features - bezel or GMT hand.

Any suggestions?

Call the seiko botique in Miami and ask if they have the blue and orange quartz 9f yet. I’ll try and find a pic.

The Reissue one would be very different and it’s a beauty. If I was buying one I’d go with Topper Jewelers. I have gotten 3 watches from them and they are honestly the best AD I have ever dealt with

GS quietly released this blue dial 9F SBGV239 at Basel this year. Classic 44GS-style case. I might have to get one.

My favorite of the 9f for sure. And the 44gs case is killer.

Can get from AD for about us$2,4 in HK. I would definitely get one if I didn't already have this SBGT235.

Don’t tempt me. Ha. I’m wearing my Peacock as we speak. I still don’t quite envy a quartz just yet. But the only other quartz I’d consider other than the GS is the oyster quartz...or maybe the Longines VHP, but that’s a long shot.

I used to own an OQ. The problem is that servicing can be very expensive depending on what movement parts need replacing. As you've probably read, the 9F could (or so it has been suggested by Grand Seiko) go 50 years without a service. So in that respect I guess you could say it pays for itself at some point far down the road.

Hey Adam,

I think I might just have to get one of these SBGV239 myself as well. After reading many of your comments here on multiple threads, I am getting very very drawn to the whole 9F range. My only real question now is, what is the difference between this SBGV239 and the SBGV225? Noticed both have the same exact movement (9F82), both are 40mm. Is it merely just a different styling of case & bracelet? Thank you in advance for any insight you may be able to share.
