Question on datedisc for 1603 DJ

Hi all you vintage experts. I have a recent 1603 purchase which is in real good shape and operates like new. The date disc has the original open sixes for the date 6 and 16, but for 26 the date is a closed 6. Is this normal? I'm thinking because there is a 2 along with the 6, there may not have been enough room to have the open 6 because it is a little larger than the closed 6. Your thoughts please. Photo attached.

I appreciate your input. Thanks

On my 1601 & 1600 they are closed. But open on all the other combinations.

A closed 26 but an open 6 and 16 is a known thing. My 1675 is the same.

Thanks folks for your replies. I didn't figure it was anything major, but better to be safe than sorry. Love my DJ and really enjoy this forum. So much info at your fingertips.

You may have an aftermarket date disc.

Or just wrong era disc. Some are all open, all closed. Somewhere on the forum is an incredible link to all of them.

I didn’t find a global list link, but THIS might help ...

I’d love to see the link to all, if anyone kept a bookmark.

Thanks, that thread was quite informative. Mine is from the 70's, and I do have open 6's, and 9's, except the 26. Amazing how Rolex kept making these subtle changes through all those years. I would guess it would be pretty darn difficult to come up with a complete list for all ref's and calibers and what the proper date disc should be. I even have some listings of Rolex serial numbers that supposedly represent the manufacture dates, but they're totally different. Seems Rolex doesn't want anything to be absolute, they prefer to be somewhat inconsistent. I actually like that.
