Interesting. Seems like a watch investor, not a watch lover. You can tell not only by what he's saying, but by the way he jammed that gold Daytona back into the plastic pouch with no protection between the case and bracelet. That's what a cloth is for!!

I find it odd that he says that he couldn't even begin to guess the original retail price of the A-series Royal Oak... it was pretty famously priced at 3,650CHF, and that figure is mentioned in nearly every article about the history of the Royal Oak.
Also odd he thinks that A217 is the earliest 5402 "out there". There are tons of photos of earlier caseback numbers on the internet, and a bunch in mstanga's book as well. |
