Video: Vintage Rolexes (and an AP)

This is the redoubtable Roman Sharf, grey dealer and vintage collector, giving some tips on the importance of box and papers and various other things. Enjoy.

Interesting. Seems like a watch investor, not a watch lover. You can tell not only by what he's saying, but by the way he jammed that gold Daytona back into the plastic pouch with no protection between the case and bracelet. That's what a cloth is for!!

Thanks for your responses. Yeah, the way he drops watches on his desk drives me crazy; I think he does it on purpose but why?

I find it odd that he says that he couldn't even begin to guess the original retail price of the A-series Royal Oak... it was pretty famously priced at 3,650CHF, and that figure is mentioned in nearly every article about the history of the Royal Oak.

Also odd he thinks that A217 is the earliest 5402 "out there". There are tons of photos of earlier caseback numbers on the internet, and a bunch in mstanga's book as well.
