So, look how the things looks now, Chrono24 are full of 15510, 26240 50 anniversary and the price it’s going down and down…… see some 15510 50 anniversary there are more cheaper then RO 15500….
In this condition 50 anniversary who was supposed to be for the AP funs or AP lovers are ending on grey market….
If AP don’t wake up soon and change policy then the price will come below retail in the near future…..
I see someone compare with Patek, I am not Nautilus fun but I must admit that when Patek say it’s the last green itinerary of 5711 after one year stop production…..
From what I understand green AP will be in production in the future so nothing special….
Just my 2 cents
Respectfully, I have to say, if you think AP would have solved the problems you mentioned by sticking with retailers, then I think you are sorely mistakened. Where I’m from, big time ADs are impenetrable unless you’re willing to spend loads on other brands; ADs could care less about your horological interests, just about how much slow moving inventory you take off their hands. There’s no perfect system, but I’d take AP’s boutique construct anytime of the day. Part of the reason I have huge respect for FHB.

Do we lack so much altruism that we can't share a silly 50th rotor with someone who is new and appreciates the brand? We should be welcoming newcomers to the brand, not hoarding all things because we are long time clientele of the brand.
As always 7sins, well said.

That's what I've been told by my colleagues. Of course, I've also heard stories about people buying 1 woman's PP watch -> being called to view a calatrava -> then being offered a 5712G on the spot (London Bond Street). Guess PP works in mysterious ways as well.

Patek retail location is where all watch enthusiasm goes to die.

I’m happy with AP! I prefer their designs and I don’t have to buy 3 leather strap dress watches I don’t want just to possibly get a aquanaut - hard pass!

I’m told it’s still very, very difficult — if not impossible to get an aquanaut from an AP boutique! sorry….so day over here.

AP win because of Patek scarcity. Because many of the watch lovers discover AP when waiting for Patek Aquanaut or Nautilus. Many people will not play any more Patek games…

It's definitely becoming easier. In the past two months I had the call for ROO blue diver, ROO Music Edition and ROC. Rejected them all...

I only buy three handers, preferably without a date (that's why I was interested in the ROO Music Edition, but changed my mind). Waiting for a RO white dial, should be either by the end of December, otherwise January 2023. Will be the 15510 without the 50th anniversary rotor, which I prefer.

ROC black dial.

Have you established relationship with prior purchases?

From nothing for two years, I was offered two women's’ royal oaks in the space of the last 10 days. Declined the first, bought the second.

Your mileage may vary.

I've had to play wayyyyyyy less games with Patek and actually feel appreciated by them, compared to AP. But, guess in both cases ultimately depends on your points of sale / contacts.

Just visited AP here in HK...

I'm interested in a few pieces, and according to my contacts at AP, they will allocate one to me by Feb/March, which is great.

I wanted to see the CODE Starwheel, but they didn't have a display model available. Will go to AP House next week. If I want one, I'm first line (as a CODE owner, at least that's what AP told me), which is good news. Have to see it in person before I can put it on my 'Wishlist'.

I refuse to give money to the greys. I don't see getting the call until things cool off--in another 2 years probably

Cooling off as we speak. I think in 2 years, unless something major happens, economy will be hot again.

I think this is the year to get a watch if you've been on the waiting list. 2024 and beyond I think you see grey market prices well above retail and waitlists at boutiques to be steady.

The only “safe” bet for Patek… is Tiffany’s. Till Patek erects their own boutiques, I guess.

Yeah I stopped believing in Santa.

At least I have my current application pieces to keep me warm although when they break I’m not super excited about sending them in myself now.
