Incoming - 3940G

I will start by saying I have loved this watch for almost as long as I’ve been collecting. To me, the 3940 is one of the most well laid out, beautiful watches out there. So, I finally started wondering what I was waiting for and just went for it. While not a daily, it’s really hard to take this one off. The silver dial with the linen texture is just perfect for me. And this thing is a strap monster.

So, anyways, pic below.

Congratulations it is indeed a beauty

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with other straps … that one compliments the dial perfectly IMHO

Exactly this! Huge congrats...

... and a question. Do you know if all 3940G were Rhodium plated until the very end in around 2006 or if late examples came in grey gold w/o any plating?

Thanks guys. Much appreciated!

As for the strap, I much prefer it dressed down like this. Just a whole different look and feel for the watch and fits my lifestyle much better.

Some additional pics from my iPhone.

Question for you OP. Those quick change springbars you have.... Are those from Patek? I don't have them on my p curious if Patek makes platinum ones or I should just get stainless ones from delugs etc.

Love the watch and love the strap. Thank goodness these haven't exploded like everything else. Imagine buying an aquanaut instead of this!

Not recommended to cross-pollinate metals: platinum springbars for a platinum case.

Excellent move! Your 3940 seems to be in excellent shape and you found a very nice strap to pair it with. It's not that often that we can remember of a watch that is always right up there after many years. I'm glad you found one.

Wear it in the best of health :)

No these aren’t OEM springbars. They came with the ACM strap it’s on.

I haven’t had any issues using steel springbars with a gold or platinum watch. Have never had the springbars cause any issues. I honestly doubt that the OEM ones would be gold or platinum either but I may be wrong on that.
