Applebook, TZ used to be a gentleman's corner, but these scumbags are ruining the hobby for everybody.
The safest way to do purchase now a days are via: 1. AD (some issues with them when purchasing pre-owned as well); 2. Trusted net sellers such as watchseller, preownedrolex (Cayce) 3. A known watch collector that you've dealt with before I know how you feel, I couldn't sleep for days. At the end of it all... Canadapost couldn't help, recol.ca couldn't help nor the CAnadapost ombudsman couldn't in my claim for insurance. Watchnet is a good tool for checking up on references. I usually post there for ref checks. If the ref check replies to me and only has two posts, I'm not going ahead at all. Hope that scumbag gets what he deserves.
