Black Rolex Submariner Real or Fake?

Good morning everyone! I've met a young man who is trying to sale a black Rolex submariner for $1,200. It does have some wear and tear on it but is overall in very good shape and condition. I have not seen the watch in person but have attached pictures that he has sent me online. He says he is in college and his dad gave this to him as a graduation gift and swears it is authentic. He claims the box for it is 200 miles away at his parents house in Atlanta and he does not have access to that right now. Just need some advice. Can you all help me decipher if this is real or fake and if it is real, is $1,200 a fair asking price for this particular watch?
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it!
John

The good news is, it's not a fake Submariner. The bad news is, it's a fake Sea-Dweller.

If it were real, which it is not. Do some research and see if $1200 is a fair price, you will see it is a huge red flag and a scam.....

Ask yourself why he would sell it for 1200 when he could easily get 10K, it's obviously a fake.

Seems like a simple fix would be not allowing pictures to be posted at all until a certain post count.

The intent of these threads is generally inappropriate, but I have to say that they are often rather entertaining to read, especially the sarcastic and witty responses from the members.

The watch is fake.

Therefore, 1200 bucks is an outrageous asking price for this particular watch.

OP John hasn’t been online since posting yesterday, he’s probably out enjoying his new watch.

Don't even need to look at the pictures. The price alone is a huge red flag.

I know I’m new here and would honestly prefer to only provide positive energy only... but I can’t resist.. how can people honestly think they are getting a $10k watch for a ‘Great deal’ at a price like $1200 and not immediately look the other way. I mean seriously, what sane human is going to part with their ~$10k for 10% of its total worth...Sure, can you find these DSSD for great prices on Chrono24 and the likes? Yes. Will anyone be selling you an honest product at a price that low? Highly unlikely...Without even being familiar with some of the glaring defects, that price makes no sense. If you are not someone simply checking to see if your fake Rolex is pass-able, please save your hard earned money (or your massive retirement fund or trust fund, it really doesn’t matter). Good day..

It's overpriced by around $1,199. I'd hang back and hold out for a lower price.
