New Omega

Can someone help me date this Seamaster and perhaps give a reference number.

It looks like a 165.009 but the hands don’t look right.

If you unscrewed the case back it should have the model number on the inside.

Thanks.

I don't think that it's that reference, though because the numerals and indices don't match, although, it's close.

I'll have the back removed and take a look.

Clean look! Not too loud but it'll catch any watch enthusiasts eye!

Here’s why I thought it might be that reference. There’s a ton of variants of 60’s Seamasters, though.

Never mind. The lugs are also wrong. Most that I find that match up say “De Ville” or “600” or something else on the dial. I’m at a loss. Sorry.

It might be a 165.001.

Or a 165.002.

I see what you mean about myriad variation.

I also agree that the one's that match most closely have DeVille on the dial.

I am quite sure that this is not a redial, though.

I just learned from someone else that the back does not unscrew. It's what they call "front loader."

The movement comes out from the top.

I'll have to verify that advice, though.

Be careful with old front loaders. I have an old Omega DeVille Seamaster from ‘67 I think. It’s easy to snap off the metal shelf inside the case that holds it all together. If you do that then Omega won’t service it and you’ll have to find a private laser welder to restore.

A bit of superglue is keeping mine intact atm.
