When is a good time to buy a new model watch?

When a new model comes out, is it better to buy it soon after or wait a few more months to buy it? Will the price usually drops? Does anyone notice any trend?

The trend is: you can’t get a new model soon after it comes out, unless you’re on extremely good terms with your AD. It also means you probably still can’t get the watch after a few months, unless you’re a half a step below extremely good terms with your AD. The price will go up, unless the model is meh and then maybe it’ll drop. The trend is only getting worse and probably will remain getting worse since production was halted for a bit from Covid.

Sorry if this post is cynical. It’s just the truth.

He speaks the truth. Best bet is to look at Rolex website sept 1st, make a quick decision on what you want, call all the ADs near you, you will be higher on the list, but first option are automatically going to go to their A+ clients. When they turn it down, then will go to list order. Just get on the lists ASAP, all you can do.

I would recommend waiting for few months before getting the newer model.

Some people probably put deposit at their ad for the new unknown watch.

You are aware that many Rolex models are simply not readily available and have seriously long waiting lists? So the answer is it depends on the model you want.
