AP House London - Visit

I met up again with a couple of APers at AP House London today. Here’s a couple of pics of the new ROO blue ceramic and gold ceramic (very similar to the POG in my opinion).




And here’s something that most of you will never see or touch, a truly spectacular piece of art.

That bracelet is utterly incredible. Frustratingly I was on the phone at the time, so missed out on handling it. I think it's THE most beautiful piece of jewellery I've ever seen - in real life or pics. Utterly stunning...

Thanks for posting Gary. Are those new 44mm ROC's the same form factor and overall fit on the wrist as the PoG? I think their overall dimensions are very similar if not identical.

I tried the PoG on and it was WAY too big for me, so assuming these new ROCs are similar that will rule me out. Which is kind of a shame as I've grown fond of the rose gold.

They were Offshores, so all the same exact size as every other 44mm, sorry.

Nice to see though. It’s the first time I’ve seen them in hand since they were launched and the disks are MUCH better IRL than in the pics, but that’s old news, I’m just behind the times.

Apparently they’ve all been a big hit and the allocation for this year sold out immediately.

Just got home, sort of, now at dinner with my wife, but wanted to say a big thank you to Chris who very kindly gifted me with a pair of spitfire cuff links made from a real 1940’s spitfire. Very cool indeed.

Just FYI, AP London are putting that spectacular bracelet on display in one of their cabinets, I'm not sure for how long.

They have the blue and green ceramics available to see (marketing models) and they pulled out all the strings to ensure they had the gold ceramic for us to play with (no idea how long they'll have it for).

They also had the new titanium ROO, very light weight.

The Code Openwork Tourb is amazing IRL and they have that too, again I'm not sure for how long.

In short, if any UKers have any interest in any of those pieces then get a move on and go visit AP House before any more restrictions of travel etc are put in place.

Again, I sound like a sycophant, I know it, but to a person the whole AP House London team are exceptional people. Go and make some new friends.

Overall, like that blue 44mm, especially the dial.
Except for the 2x "11"s at the top.

They could have used an inverted triangle for the 12 o'clock marker as has been done on some past chronographs.

I’m in the same boat. But I thought long and hard about how that bezel would look and ultimately went with the green one since I was a looking for a daily beater

Its funny, but whilst at AP we were actually discussing sizing etc and I think I'm only just ROO 44mm suited, for sure my next AP will be smaller. However, my wife rocks her 37mm ROOs and she was looking at a beautiful RO for herself that's the same 37mm sizing but far shallower and that fitted her better too. So, I reckon that the 44mm 'may' go on a diet at some point and lose some depth and that might have some positive benefits to those people just on the edge of 44mm territory.

I haven’t posted it yet - was shipped to me and still need to open it but owe the forum a photo when I do.

With a 6.7” flattish wrist, it may be a bit oversized but yolo!

I'm not sure of the model reference, but it may be affectionately known as 'punk'. Don't hold me to that.

The pictures I posted don't do it justice. It's has geometric angles encrusted with diamonds juxtaposed with panels of onyx. Truly spectacular.

BUT.....

It's quartz, lol.

and double BUT....

it's quite pricey.

Not yet, I started my drive south at 2.30am yesterday and by the time I arrived I was pretty tired and not really able to focus on how much I liked the watch however AP gave me Macallan 18 to drink and that was amazing. My gut feeling on the watch is that I prefer stick markers to numerals on the dial but the smoked dial itself is a very attractive feature. I definitely don’t like the gold plots.

nice macallan 18 sounds great right now - even though it's 12:30pm on the West Coast:)

Agreed on the numerals vs markers but other than that it's growing on me big time - no local boutique and covid combo has given me no opportunity to try the new ROOs 44mm yet - really want to.

The gold plots are the small gold pieces that the strap attaches to.

NYC had marketing pieces to try on in August - before you head near a boutique next, as your SA if there are any marketing pieces to check out. You can’t buy them but it’s certainly a good way to get yourself on the list for consideration
