Very cool, spectacular watch!

As my pennies collect, as the idea continues to invade and settle permanently in my wife's mind, this is the one I'm looking for when the time presents itself:

Another Steinhart... a PVD 'Blackout' version with a meteorite dial.

Yes, they're very 'derivative' - but excellent watches in my opinion.

Heard an interesting comment, with brands like Rolex, AP, Patek, FPJ, etc., unattainable in terms of rising prices and availability, brands like Nomos, Tissot, Frederique Constant, Chris Ward, the minor Swiss and independent brands, is there "cache" going to rise? Are we going to start to see more and more people being drawn to these attainable and accessible brands and as a result, see the same upward trend?

Take Tissot, Chris Ward, Fred Constant, their offerings of late have been punching way above their weight class.

The Flyback Chrono from FC, ferkin' gobsmacked at how nice it is....

Interesting, is FC, Nomos, Squale, Chris Ward etc., ten years away from being a sought after brand or never gonna happen?

Well, none of us can see the future, when I first started collecting Rolex sports watches, they were reasonably priced and accessible - I don't think anybody foresaw the massive price hike(s).

I can't really see the watches on your list doing the same - but who knows?

I think when some of their models become discontinued, they may become more 'sought-after' - but it will all be relative. I can't see Christopher Ward becoming AP, for instance.

I think the trick is to buy what we like, wear them, enjoy them - if they become 'collectible', that's a bonus.

Nice GS!

Yes, agreed, I've never bought a watch for investment, or any thought of value if I sold it later, I buy watches to enjoy. As a matter of fact, I've only ever sold one watch, a Longines Chronograph to my neighbour who absolutely was in love with it.

It's always great to find something a little different that ticks the boxes and is something fun to throw on the wrist.

Great thread and thanks again!

My wife hates you by the way.....

Had to remind her, "Hate the game, not the player!"
