Is this damage repairable ?
Wanted to give my Gmt2c a new look with a tan leather strap but ended up with a chipped lug. It happens when I was putting it back and the spring bar popped out.
Is this damage repairable ? Should I bring it down to the RSC ? Or is this an easy fix where any local watch shop can easily fix ? Thanks guys ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342484216.099870.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1342484236.464883.jpg |

Ouch! Hate that for you.
You'll have to live with it, or get the watch polished - if the mark isn't too deep - hard to tell from the picture. If it were mine, I'd chalk it up to character and move on. It probably won't be the last battle scar you get.

Looks like you still have some plastic stickers on your bracelet too. You should get those removed ASAP.

Sorry to hear. I am certain it is repairable but I would try to wait until service time. This may drive me nuts however depending how it looks from different angles while on your wrist.
Ideally see if you can live with it and if not send her in

Don't worry about it, it's just a tiny dent on the lug. Wear and enjoy it.

Leave it be for now, just a scratch. Believe it or not, there are more scratches, dings that will come it's way. My SD is like that - it has many battle scars along door jams and door knobs.

Probably not very noticeable - except to you (seems like a Mack truck ran over it, right?). I'd hang on and get it fixed with the first service. Just a little battle scar.

I have exactly the same type of dents as yours. Not just one, but two on both lugs..It drove me nuts at the beginning but now i'm fine with it. Takes time to getting used to.
Every time I see those dents it reminded me the first time I changed my bracelet and managed to dent it even though using tape and all. Im pretty sure it'll come back looking like new after its first service. |

Repairable yes, but not without shaving off precious metal from the lug... Which would look odd if only done to one and not the other.
I'd leave it, at least until it goes in for a service.

If I see the gouge...I think he would have to have it filled / polished down Vs. buffed out.

I think it's worse than most think. Simple polish won't do. Full and repo lush, laser welding or new case are the only 3 choices to get it like new.

I have a little nick on the bezel of my GMT and when I noticed it that's all I noticed. But now I've forgotten about it. You will, too.

I'm confident that can be taken out when the watch goes for a service and recieves a refinish.. RSC may not completely grind down the metal to remove the dent 100% but they will even it out a lot and make it a lot less visible at worse, I've seen pictures of people with way worse dents that have had te watch come back without distorted lugs or the need for a new case.. We're talking micro millimetres here not a bent lug!
Sure it'll be fine mate. Ryan |
